Looking For New Ht. Is Onkyo Ht-S5400 A Good Choice?

Need an HT. Been using my Altec Lansing MX5021 for a long time now. Checked and checked and someone suggested to get Onkyo HT-S5400. Is it a good choice? Or there are better options available at the price point? Please suggest.

Its receiver is pretty capable and gives good vfm but not at all impressed by the speaker setup......

What would you suggest to go for at a similar or lesser price point?
