Where Can I Get Reasonably High Capacity AA Batteries?

Hi, everyone,

I'd appreciate a little help with this. The only AA batteries that the stores I've been to sell are Duracell or Eveready and both of these don't last very long even in the cheap Point and Shoot Nikon that my mum uses. A pair of Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries work really nicely but I'm unable to find any of these here in Chennai. Does anyone know where I can get these or other such batteries? Non-rechargeable are fine.

Thanks for reading,

arjie - try eBay. Maybe slightly overpriced, but you get those stuff.

Get the rechargeable ones. Sanyo 2800 MaH.

Thanks for the assistance, SignOps. Do you mean something like these batteries?

I've seen the Eneloop batteries recommended for something like my wireless mouse. What would you say about those?

I was about to tell you about that. Those batteries keep charge for a long time. They are good. But not appropriate for Point and Shoot which require high MaH. Wireless Mouse - sure !

For a new buy, the Eneloops are the way to go. There are many times when you don't use your camera and when you need it, the rechargable batteries are already dead from the previous charge.
therein lies the usefulness of eneloops.
get the sanyo eneloops and be happy...

Re: Where Can I Get Reasonably High Capacity AA Batteries?

Well for camera applications i would go with a battery with higher capacity then with high charge/discharge cycles.

You will find plenty of fake from pretty much very company.
SO buy them only in showrooms that give you a bill.

A safe choice would be the sony 2700mah batteries from sony world or other huge electronic chains.they hold around 50 to 60% charge even after a year.If you do want higher charge/discharge cycles you can either go with sony Blue cycle energy batteries or sanyo eneloop.

Most AA batteries rated above 2700mah are fake.

Re: Where Can I Get Reasonably High Capacity AA Batteries?

Thanks for the help guys. I've bought a set of the 2000 mah Eneloops to try them out, and I'll give the 2700 mah Sonys a try after these get exhausted.

I'll make sure to get them from company-run shops next time if I have trouble now. It didn't strike me that there'd be fakes on eBay (though that should have been obvious considering the junk people sell there sometimes). I hope I didn't get scammed.
