What's the Best 16 GB USB Pen Drive with Best Transfer Speeds in India WithWarranty?

|

What's the Best 16 GB USB Pen Drive with Best Transfer speeds Available in India with Warranty?

Was Primarily Thinking for a Corsair Flash Voyager GT 16GB Pen Drive,..but found it has some issues & Not that fast from a Normal 16gb Voyager drive & so it doesNOT make that sense to go for it!

** Will be mainly used to Transfer large HD video files & some .mp3 files to devices that directly play from it!

***So, Transfer/ WRITING speed is of High priority.

****Also to remind again, it should be available in INDIA with Best warranty coverage....heard many such drives failing too frequently currently!!!!

Now u all the experts here, plz help me to find one, which will work best for me!will be much thankful, if anybody replies here!

Go for a External 2.5" hdd. that is best suited for your needs.
The usb thumb drives will not be of much use for HD videos at all in most cases.

Thanks Manish for coming to the forefront of Help once again but here i wanted something that has NO moving Parts& motor arrangement like a Hdd,so usb pen drives i want, though, i just cant even dream of matching it in TS with a external usb /esata hdd.will probably add those latter on! that is why i am stressing much on the transfer speeds! for this i want actually the best out of the worst(whatever the usb pen drives can best manage)!

Re: What's the Best 16 GB USB Pen Drive with Best Transfer Speeds in India WithWarra

Let me tell you very honestly that what you desire will not be posible on a thumb drive unless it is damn pricey.
Full HD requires a bandwidth of at least 15mbps and in some cases more than 20. although most come with below 10 mbps data rate.
and esata based hdd will be the best bet or even a usb hdd will be beneficial as they can have the transfer the data at the desired rate.

over & above that, there r additional 4gb size limit of fat32 format(which is the factory default format type),so transferring any hd video over 4gb(which in the majority they r) will be a "NO", so unless i format the pendrive to ntfs & compromise transfer speeds EVEN MORE, a 16/32 or whatever bigger size pendrives would be of little value or helpful in my case!...add to that ntfs is ajounaling system, the durability of pendrive will be a question.....even there r cases of pendrives getting corrupted/dead, while formatting the same to ntfs & back!...so i think there r problems galore in my particular idea of using anybig size pendrive as hd carryin media!

so, even after 1 week,i am still confused as ever...on how to find a perfect solution for this thing?...shortcoming of not using ntfs or "even" using ntfs on pen drives has its own inherent flaws.....& on the other hand using hdd with all its moving parts r still not reliable so as to use them with NO TENSION".i have already a hdd with many bad sectors in the rma processas i type this!...i just wait for the complete change to thedurable & affordable days of SSD drives, but till i am the MOST confused person here!

...mayb..@the end, i will be getting another4-8gb pendrive & a external esata/usb based external hdd,or even a internal hdd with a good quality casing like the transcend storejet 35ultra with esata/usb(i already have one working 24x7 rock solid)..or even a good quality esata/usb dock...however,nothing decided yet!

so,Manish, & the experts,...should this plan work good...or any changes required ...or i should get a 16gb ultrafast patriotXT or corsair GT 16gb?...plz give ur recommendations!!!

get one of those esata/usb2.0 portable drives which run off the USB power. That would suit you well TBH. You'll have your bandwidth and space and wouldn't have to worry about the filesystems.

Bought a PNY Swivel 16GB (Pink ) for my gf the other day. It does a good 10MB/s write speed. Which surprised me.

Re: What's the Best 16 GB USB Pen Drive with Best Transfer Speeds in India WithWarra

Mate, what you have written is just general, everything that can go bad will go bad eventually, it is a matter of time before it goes bad. I have used ntfs partitioned pendrives and they are perfectly working as of now, it is nearly 3+ years of flawless operation, I made them ntfs just coz of the stoopid 2Gb file size limit.
My suggestion will still be the same. get a firewire esata 2.5" hdd and forget about everything else. hdd's dont go bad so easily, although we hear more hdd;s going bad than the pen drives.
Ask me more of the confusion you may have. I will be glad to answer.
But if you have made a decision of going with pen drives then I suggest that you get the Corsair GT one. its waranty and rma is easier than the other one.

Yeah, I also suggested the same.
