HI i have a WD Green 2TB laptop HDD ,the problem is that it is recognized in the device manager ,but sometimes it is not detected , als when it is detected the read and write speed is very slow ,it is also making a sharp noise , as if it is trying to spin , but no cicking noise .

BACK UP THE IMPORTANT DATA WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!! IMMEDIATELY
ITS BREATHING ITS LAST, CAN DIE ANYTIME.

i had the same drive and now its dead,WD sucks, i personally have a really bad experience with WD.go for seagate , or HITACHI if you can find them.

if its under warranty then send it for RMA.

From what i ve learned all green drives are bound to fail.I had 3 of mine failed during the last 4 years. At the same time none of the blue, black or purple ever had any issues.WD is the best if you take the green drives out of it..WD warranty claim is the easiest and smoothest. They were even kind enough to send a 500gb black to replace a green one.

I got rid of all my green drives and replaced them with purples

Re: Wd green 2tb problem

WD blue drives are priced on par with regular seagate drives.WD drives can be sent for RMA, if they develop bad sectors. You dont have to wait for them to fail.I think that`s not possible with others
