Icon10 Updgrades for My CBR250R ABS Edition

Hey guys,

I wanted to ask what upgrades can be done the the CBR250R without voiding warranty???
Changing Filter and silencer voids the warranty...

I'll be changing the clutch and break levers to Sports levers (The ones with 6 levels settings...) That will cost maybe 1.5k...
Anyone kno where I can get 'Bikers' Parts in Mumbai??? : BIKERS

Also tell me all upgrades I can do with links and cost, so that I can start saving money for em accordingly

Regards,
kidpikoon

Re: Updgades for My CBR250R ABS Edition

Visual modifications wont void the warranty. You can do a lot of subtle changes to the bike, Like good rim tape, A smart Tank Guard.

handle bar ends, Coated fairing bolts ( different color ).

You can order directly from the .th site. Get in touch with the people, and you should be able to pay them thru paypal and order the stuff you need.

@krashnburn - around 1.8-1.9 on road for mumbai. Its about 1.72 on road gurgaon.

Re: Updgades for My CBR250R ABS Edition

^^ Best is the slip on exhaust. I remember my friend telling me about it ( he owns one, and rode it all the way from chennai till jaipur and back ).

Ill check with him and let you know. It reduces about 5 kgs of weight, and dyno tests have revealed that it does add 1 - 1.5 bhp power as well.

Wait for a K&N or other type of stock insert air filter.

Also as a first step if you have not done much mileage on the bike, change the tyres to a pirelli sport demon or other softer compound. The continentals that the bike comes shod with, are really hard compound tyres, and are not really that great for cornering or grip under heavy braking ( Though you have ABS, a stickier tyre will help ).

My friend's bike had already done nearly 8000 kms, and the Conti tyres were like brand new... The IRC tyres that i had on my Ninja 250, had started showing signs of wear at about 3000 kms itself.

Re: Updgades for My CBR250R ABS Edition

My bike is not even 600kms now

Whats the cost of that Exhaust ???

---------- Post added at 10:05 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:59 AM ----------

Buying stuff like Clutch lever from here would cost like 1-1.5k, whereas Buying from their taiwan site would cost 1-2k for part + Shipping + duty...
So buying from here would be better...

Also I was looking for a main stand, it seams hondas Original one has not come yet, are there any other Stands for CBR250 available???

Re: Updgades for My CBR250R ABS Edition

^^ Buy the stand for the R15, and then modify it to fit the CBR. ( just need to cut and weld a section of tube in the middle ). Better if you can get one made locally. Else you can order frm metafab faridabad. They make paddock stands for CBR.

Dont need a main stand, since the bike has tubeless tyres.

Do invest in a good wax and cleaner ( for rim, engine etc ). sohail99 is the guy to advise for that.

Re: Updgades for My CBR250R ABS Edition

If you go for K&N, please assure that you get a good mechanic to fit it.

K&N have shown really bad performance when not installed properly.
Its awesome only when fitted nicely.

Re: Updgades for My CBR250R ABS Edition

^^ K&N also requires an increase in the fuel flow, since the air flow has gone up. With just installing the filter, any bike will start running leaner since more air will be entering the intake.

Either the bike is running a closed loop FI system, that compensates for the additional air by increasing fuel flow, or the air fuel mixture is made richer by the AF screw on the carb.

Not clear whats the FI system on the CBR250, Closed loop or open.

Re: Updgades for My CBR250R ABS Edition

Hey Guys,

Here is the Price list for Bikers Parts for CBR250R in Mumbai:
https://www.rapidshare.com/#!downloa...TOMERS.pdf|287

All Parts are Expensive...
Buying Rs.12000 Fairing Protectors for the Fairing that would be recovered in the Insurance anyways is just not worth it...
Considering that they are just 2 small screw like but very strong pieces, its production wont cost more than Rs.1,500
So all the cost is just for the Bikers name I guess...

Any other cheaper but good quality material available in India???
I want to buy almost all the Protective parts in the list...

I am sorry for the OT but I thought plastic and fibre reinforced parts have less than 50% recovery during insurance claims.
Correct me if I am wrong.

Re: Updgades for My CBR250R ABS Edition

^ There are few companies offering 100% topups for motorbike insurance(incl fibre parts). I know for sure that Oriental Insurance and ICICI offer it. Not sure about other cos.

@POST: Honda is very fuzzy about the warranty for 250r. As a rule of thumb, consider anything that can be easily swapped in the bike as a mod you can consider.

@kidpikoon: Could you confirm if this your first bike?...
