  • Are you comfortable with buying secondhand components from the Erodov market? : Yes
  • Intended use of the PC [gaming/office use/rendering/HD playback etc] : World of Warcraft
  • Brand preferences: Intel, Nvidia,
  • Monitor resolution and size: 1920x1200 22inch

Re: Suggestions and Price Check for New PC

Since you are in Delhi... drop in to SMC intl and they will do a grand job of setting up the rig for you.

Don't buy the K chip if you are not planning on overclocking (which you should be btw... otherwise its just !@#$@R%)

@thebanik might put in a good word for you as well and get you the best price possible.

Two things -
1. There is no 2400k. there is just 2400.
2. Both those put together you have spent roughly 23k. If you need a monitor and a new 500Gb HDD then that will set you back by another 12k. So for these 4 components you have already spent 35k.

I am stating the above only to set the right expectations. A Core i3 (dual core) and a 550Ti would be a better bet in this budget. AFAIK WoW is not a very resource hungry game. I am about to hit the sack or else I would have suggested something in more detail. But I am sure there are others who are cued into the current pricing better than me, who could suggest a good rig for you.

Cheers!

Re: Suggestions and Price Check for New PC

Yep... what he said... 40K budget won't get you too far with a K/i5 system.

i3 would be more suitable for the budget.

So I assume you already have a monitor. It would help others know it if you mention it in the opening post.
Also mention the complete list of hardware that you will need for the new machine rather than some specific models that you have stated.

Eg - 4Gb RAM, PSU, 1155 mobo

Dont even think about this for another year.
Sata II - 500 Gb is selling at 4.5k odd, 1tb - 7k and 2Tb at around 9k.

Re: Suggestions and Price Check for New PC

I already have a monitor keyboard and mouse
I plan to keep the PC on all the time 24x7 (not hosting or something), and afaik WoW is more of cpu intensive game so want a decent processor
i also have no plans on upgrades etc just may need a few slots for Tv-Tuner/sound card etc thats all, which i may add later

so am i looking at a budget of 80k+ ?

How about something like

Intel i5 2400
MSI H67MA-E35 (B3)
MSI 560 GTX Ti Twin Frozr
Corsair DDR3 4GBx2
Seagate 1 TB 7200RPM

If you dont want to build your own system, then this is the best advice for you.

24" Dell 2312HM Full HD, Logitec non multimedia keyboard (pls dont ask how many keys! ) Razer Naga Molten mouse all i need is the missing piece that can complete the average gaming setup.

I am not in delhi but i can arrange it to be picked up from delhi, but anyways acquiring etc is not a big deal all i wanted is to put a number (30-60K) on the board for that config.

---------- Post added at 02:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:07 PM ----------

Things I need for the system
CPU+M/B (Intel i5 preferred good processing power bundled offers would be great)
GFX card (prefer 560Ti Nvidia but can live with similar ATI too)
PSU (wattage suggestion looking at very minimal future upgrades such as sound card and TV Tuner)
CPU Cooler (if the stock one is insufficient)
DDR3 Ram (start with 4GBx1/2 and will upgrade it incrementally)
Sub Rs. 3k elegant cabinet (not too flashy but does the job well)
500GB+ HDD (Dont require SSD but SATA would be good)
misc fans for air flow

did i miss something ?

PS: DVD Drive

Thanks for the response
