Suggest a Good 1.5KVA or 2 KVA Inverter

Dear Friends

i need a inverter of 1.5KVA rating or 2 KVA rating. the inverter should be able to give me atleast 6-8 hours backup.

the load on the inverter Would be as followed

1. A Computer with all Components (estimated 400Watts)
2. 20 Watts CFL x 5 (five) {only 3 will be used during day and 4 will be used at Night, after midnight only a Nigh lamp and 1 CFl will run}
3. one tube(40watts) (will not be in use every time)
4. Fans x 3 (three) {any 2 will be on)
5. 10-15 watts CFL x 2 (Two) {either wil be used at once}
6. another PC will be on which will consume around 150 watts

Suggest some very goos brands and which batteries shall i buy.

More than the inverter the batteries are most important. Take "tall tubular" 150ah batteries. Exide and Luminous are good.

Re: Suggest a Good 1.5KVA or 2 KVA Inverter

available inverter brands around here are: sukam, utl, microtek & apc. apc gonna be quite expensive though.
you could use maintenance free battery or tubular battery. heard exide inva tubular batteries are pretty good. with the inva red being their best.
maintenance free batteries are what its supposed to be - maintenance free. but i doubt they hav that long a life compared to tubular batteries. tubular batteries though, have to be replenished with distilled water as and when the levels drop.
also make sure to keep the batteries in a well ventilated location or atleast not in a closet as they release hydrogen

Re: Suggest a Good 1.5KVA or 2 KVA Inverter

budget is flexible i want the best of best. just to start with i can say 40K but i can increase this if the product is Good.

i have heard that Luminious have Good Inverters and Good Batteries Too. Exide has recently come up with their Inverters and still growing in the market.

Use su-kam it's good in quality and support and prefer sine wave to avoid electronic failure.since square wave will affect electronic parts but if you need long back-up time then go for square wave

Re: Suggest a Good 1.5KVA or 2 KVA Inverter

powersafe which was previously kunhar, the vip smps makers have their own ups & inverters since some time. heard to be good aswell. friend has one of these & is holding up pretty good. am also thinking of getting 2 inverters sometime now, since there are frequent powercuts these days specially since the monsoon. gotta start with calculating the amount of load I intend to put on it
but max of 2-3hr backup is fine for me I guess, as power is usually back within a couple of hrs atmost. unless there is a scheduled powercut, which is usually for maintenance work.
so, ill also be doin a bit of research on this, feeding in here & lookin wats goin here too

as of now my preferences in order would be: apc, powersafe, luminous.
apc is a bit more expensive though. but, I like their after sales service.
batteries are the most expensive part of the inverter. depending on ur load & backup time required, you would be using from 1-3 to racks of them
