Actually, there's no competition between the 2 in LGA775. I know, cause I ve both !!! I purchased my OCZ v2 and the hyper212 was gifted to me by CM Taiwan. I'm still using my OCZ v2 with my E8600 clocked at 4.5GHz 24/7 .. the hyper212 is rotting in the box.

And the review link I posted, was done by an elite member of XS forum .. not some regular website.

I really appreciate the help U provide here and I beg U to keep it up. Just do it responsibly as the new comers will take our word for it and spend their cash, accordingly.

Rahul, get the OCZ v2 !!!
Check the link mate it clearly says LGA 775 comparison chart:|.
You are confusing me.
But on other hand i do agree v2 is better again i say i suggested hyper 212 plus coz its retailing for 1.95k + 600 fan high cfm would definitely take over v2 with stock fan.

Hyper 212+ with two fans should be slightly better than OCZ V2. I have done a review of both.

EDIT: this is for AMD, I dont know how much variance in performance there will be for intel CPU's.

Re: Suggest CPU cooler for C2D E4500 ...

It says :
Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus Socket 1156 Heatsink Review
in bold .. nLGA775 in tiny

Anyways .. I guess those noobs didn't apply the TIM right.

The Benchmark review guys mentioned how others got bad scores with OCZ v2 cause of bad TIM application .. n I myself ve an experience with the same .. at Funky (Shripad)'s place.

We were playing around with SCCF, Xigmatechs n the OCZ .. n thats when he pointed out how the OCZ requires the even application, as explained in the TIM review at Benchmark reviews .. else the scores will suck.

I ve an experience with both the OCZ n Hyper as well as TRUE n SCCF ... I got better temps with SCCF at 4.3GHz on my E8600 but it didn't lemme OC over 4.5GHz ... but with the OCZ , I went all the way till 4.8 GIGS !!!

And I ve tried taking my E8600 to 5GHz with all the possible HSFs .. including 2x138CFM sunon 120x38mm fans on TRUE n Hyper .. but like SCCF, it never went over 4.5GHz. Only OCZ has made me able to reach 4.8GHz on my E8600.

So I really can't expect anything to beat that in C2Ds atleast !!!

Of course it sucks in other sockets

Rahul .. what FSB are U stuck at, ATM ???
Ur Transcend 800MHz RAM won't go over 420FSB, unless U loosen to CL6 .. n even then dunno how much more.

With the OCZ 800MHz CL4 RAM, U can go all the way till 500FSB with CL5 n even more with loser timings.

Also, check the OCZ v2's performance here on a E4600 .. as U ve similar CPU

^^ Kool

Ashish, here's a review of the hyper212 on an AMD 720BE.

Cooler Master Hyper 212 PLUS – A short review | Tech Reaction

The OCZ beats the Hyper212 by 2 degrees on a single fan .. guess then Hyper212 should easyly beat the OCZ with 2 fans

2 bad, U cannot use 2 fans on the OCZ

Then again, the Hyper212's fan is louder than OCZs .. 2 of em would be

Re: Suggest CPU cooler for C2D E4500 ...

Guys the OCZ is a very good hsf but the price advantage and the possibility of running it in push pull configuration makes it a cool deal indeed
Of course I am talking about the amd platform here as suggested by blufox also

Guess who did that review...........................

Both are extremely good coolers and will work well enough at medium OC's. Take your pick. I dont mind a little more noise for a better OC, so I would go with two fans on an Hyper 212+.

The V2 should be around 2.5k and the 212+ should be around 2k. The TIM that comes with the V2 is crap...and the TIM that comes with the 212+ is actually very good. I would buy an extra fan for the 500 bucks and take it from there. The only issue I have with the 212+ is the mounting. The V2 has a very simple but effective mount and u can kind of take it out and put it back in 2 minutes. With the 212+ its a lot harder to install to start with.

Also the rubber fan mounts is a great feature and I would take that over the 212+'s metal holders.
