Ssd rma

Has anyone got an RMA for an SSD?

I am considering Samsung due to its service network in the country.

Can buy 840 Evo for around Rs. 4300 (~120GB) with 3 year warranty or 850 Evo for around Rs. 5500 with 5 year warranty.

I am also coming across Intel 530 and some Toshiba SSD around this price range. I am not sure if they can give replacement in case of an issue in future.

Comments invited.

I am going to use with my Dell XPS 435MT. I am told that I won't get true SATA III performance on that system due to crippled BIOS or maybe motherboard issue.

So, probably the extra performance and extra money is not worth it for me?

Just got to know Samsung RMA form is here: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/su...ODDExchange.do

How are things with other vendors in India? Intel/ Toshiba?

I purchased the Samsung 850 EVO SSD from ebay. It should reach today.

What is the process for getting 5 year warranty? Do I need to register?

850 EVO comes with 5 years warranty by default.

Re: Ssd rma

Using the SSD since two weeks. There is noticeable performance improvement, though I don't have any native AHCI support (my Dell BIOS does not have that).

Is there some step to be taken to register the product on Samsung website?

Or should I just assume my 5 year warranty starts from the date of purchase on the bill?

@BULLZI: I took your suggestion and went for the more expensive 850 series.
