Re: Seasonic 620W S12II Bronze and Zebronics Realwatts PRO-600

The PSU isn't working .

The config on which i tried the PSU is,
Phenom II X4 965BE
Asus CH IV formula
Corsair value DDR3 1333 2GB
XFX geforce 9800gt green
WD 1TB black
NZXT Gamma

When i power on the PC, my APC 600VA gives a continuous beep..
So i disassembled all the components outside Gamma on to my PC table & tried to power on the PC the same happened.
I tried disconnecting the HDD from the mobo n PSU & checked, the result was same.
Then i disconnected all the components from the PSU(e.i, all the PSU connec. are free) & inserted the power cord onto the PSU n powered on the UPS. Still the same continuous beep.
I thought it might be the UPS's issue, so i connected the PSU directly to the power o/p w/o the UPS. Shockingly, the circuit breaker of one phase of my home tripped-off.

I tried the same setup inside n outside gamma with my Silent pro M600 & my bro's Corsair CX400, the PC runs just fine.
So i guess this concludes there might be problem with the Seasonic 620W PSU..
Therefore i've returned the PSU to the seller. He has checked the PSU n concluded that the unit isn't working.

The PSU wasn't shipped to me as the seller resides at my home town. The seller assures that the PSU was working well before he packed it inside the box.

I'm asking for a refund but the seller gives me 2 options,
1. Take the unit to service center n RMA it myself.
2. Wait for him to RMA the unit himself & then he'll refund the money.

Now what should i do?
I don't have time to RMA the PSU as I live very far from Chennai(where Seasonic Service centre is located).

How long would the RMA take? Coz if the RMA takes 2 weeks (just an approx.) and you have time then i think its "okay" waiting.
But if not then imo the seller should refund the money.
Also no proof of the PSU in working condition before purchase?
Im saying this because not all non-working PSU's can be RMA'ed. There are several warranty TnC's. Not accusing the seller but if it (non-working condition) was done on his end and if it cannot be RMA'ed then there would be several problems for both buyer and seller.
Just my opinion.

MegaMind had provided a clear picture of the issue. The PSU was working fine when i was using and even a few days before handing over to him, i had to use it and it was working fine. Now that the PSU is with me and i used it with the same set as before, but the system is not powering on. I have good faith in MegaMind and i am not able to find the reason behind this issue. So, what i offered him was, either he can RMA himself or i will do it for him or refund him once i get the PSU after RMA. So, Mods please help me take the right decision.

@MegaMind believe based on the issue you faced maybe its a ground issue..

my case what happened was i bought a QX processor form rajan1311 and it used to freeze and all.. what it turned out to be was a molex cable touching the cabinet and that to be causing it..

I think this is one off issue where in the working PSU blew up in your place.. lucky there is still warranty (RMA) possible..

There is no point in fighting over what has happened or asking mods about the same however i having dealt with @rajkri11 either rma the unit if you plan to keep it or as he confirmed above he will refund the amount after RMA.. usually wont take more than 2 weeks..

Nothing works as expected and your anxiety is understandable.. my case is described in HD6950, HD5770, GTX460 and 9500GT and Raj has got the card back and will refund the money.. no worries there..

I guess there are compatibility issues in every setup.. (NO WONDER YOU STILL GET BSOD'S IN MS OS)

Re: Seasonic 620W S12II Bronze and Zebronics Realwatts PRO-600

This is an unfortunate situation. Fortunately the PSU is still within warranty.
The 620 II is not an uncommon model and hence the RMA should hopefully not be too long.

Let the seller RMA the part. @rajkri11 - please post a picture of the receipt they give, here to confirm that you have submitted it for replacement. If the PSU is not accepted and warranty not provided then I'd except the seller to refund the money, but not before that.
@MegaMind - You'd have to go through the wait too, if this happened 1 month after you received the PSU. So I think this should be a win - win situation for both.
