Rig Specs: It Killer specs possible in low price ?

*IS* killer specs possible @ Low prices ?
(typo there)

Hey People
Sup ? My first post @ [E]rodov ...
Well i am planning to invest some of my 'paisa' in getting my self a killer rig config
Hoping to get some advice from you people!

A well wasted 2 hours narrowed me down to :

Cpu: E8500 Core2Duo
Board: P5Q PRO Turbo (Asus)
Memory: Corsair (TWIN2X4096-8500C5D) 2 X 4 Gb kit DDR2
Chassis: HAF 932 CoolerMaster
Core Cooler: N620 (if it fits in the board)
GPU: None (oops out of cash i guess :-p)

(with come CCFLS for the bling - pre owned :-P)

I Am What:

Not a pro gamer (i only play CS atm thanks to no good PC)
Graphic Designer (PS and Illustrator)
Web Designer
Novice programmer(learning)
Overclocking Freak
N.E.R.D

So i dont think i can afford a GPU at the moment ... maybe future investments. I am currently confused on how much power should i get ?
i think 720 watts will be the best suited ... but my parents will kill me thanks to the excessive bill it will lead to
I will be running 2 HDD.
Some CCFL bling
and the monster HAF chassis ...

I dont want to get my dad's wallet drilled so i need something in 25K range ... and i am so sure that the above list will not be fitting in it !

Help me out people ?
What can i cut ... ? Or can this actually fit in the 25 K range ....
Also should go for other memory than the kit from corsair ?

Looking forward for some advice !

you will need a gfx card, since the mobo doesnt have on board graphics.

and getting a powerful psu does not mean it will guzzle more. It simple means it can take that much of extra load. The power consumption will be the real time usage of your PC, and the efficiency of the PSU. Though a 450 watts will suffice your rig, you could go for a 500-600 watt to be on the safer side. Do not go for CM, go for corsair or Tagan.

Any memory changes do u suggest JD ?
Also any approximations on how much will it get even if i get like just 512 MB of GPU ? ( i can always crossfire it !)

Re: Rig Specs: It Killer specs possible in low price ?

E8500+P5Q Pro ~ 19.5K
RAM + N620 ~ 6.5K
HAF 932 ~ 9.5K
PSU 720W (Corsair TX750 ~ 7.5K)
GPU : ???

What planet are U 4m ???
.
.
.

If U need a rig in 25K which'll OC well:

E7300: 5.5K
P5Q: 7.5K
2x2GB: 3.3K (Black Pi)
9500GT: 3K
CX400W:3.3K
Cabby/HSF: in the rest of the cash.

U can go with a cheaper mobo with onboard graphics for under 5K but not advisable for Overclocking Freaks

Re: Rig Specs: It Killer specs possible in low price ?

I would suggest for 25K
AMD Phenom II 720BE + Biostar 790 based Mobo - 12K
RAM 4GB - 3K
CPU cooler - any decent upto 2K
Tagan 600W PSU - 3.5K

now this will overclock like hell

wait a sec is 25K including monitor?
then you are screwed

Re: Rig Specs: It Killer specs possible in low price ?

I will go with hawk's suggestion, that PC will be a far better gaming and overlclocking rig, one advantage will be the additional 9500GT, dunno which IGP is used in the Biostar mobo but my bet is that it cannot beat the lowly 9500GT.....

E7300 beats the 720BE in CS3 and similar applications (clocks to clocks) and is cheaper aswell.

Therefore the suggestion

Re: Rig Specs: It Killer specs possible in low price ?

Thanks for your replies people :-)

Well
i totally agree with HAWK on the point that Core2 beats 720 in clock2clock processing... but we cant deny the fact its tri-core does some butt kicking in parallel performance and yeah is certainly a bit cheaper !
So on the whole we may say its a better cost to performance ratio !

I have always been confused whats better for me ! An AMD kicks some butt in Ubuntu 64 Bit edition ... but well its slow for Adobe Suite ! Parallel performance is awesome ... xvid conversion ... rar-ing ...
Very confused :-\

Lets neways look for something to go with AMD 720 BE

Cpu: Phemon X3 720 BE = Rs 8,848 (techshop.in price)
Motherboard: M4A78T-E - ~Rs. 9000 (If AM2+)
M4A78 PRO - ~Rs. 6950 (If AM3 Slot)
M4A79T Deluxe - ~Rs. 12475 (If AM3 Slot)
(prices from (oops not to say).com ... so real time might be lower !)

Memory: No idea ... some DDR3/DDR2 ram from AM3/AM2+ (Maybe Corsair !) that is Rs.5000 range (4GB)

Cooling: CoolerMaster N620 Rs.3000 range
GPU: ??? Rs.5000 Range
Power: ???? 600 W Rs. 3500 Range

GrandTotal : 35,0000+ !!
A good 10K above my range !

And the case is missing ... So 10K more for the killer HAF932 !!! lol

AnandTech: Phenom II X3 720BE & CrossFire X Performance - Does it Compete?
I know that's a CrossFireX comparison, but when a Phenom II X3 begins to take jabs at a Q9550 you sit up and take notice.
But then again, I could be wrong, and hawk is indeed teh m4n for hardware

Well, it is bound to do better in multi core applications but since his primary needs were Photoshop and Illustrator, I suggested E7300. If he would ve mentioned 3DMax or maya .. I wouldn't ve thought twice

How bout the future prospects ? If put in like 30K in this ... i would like to keep it for like 3-4 yrs ... without changing much
