What exactly is a SOFT MOD? O_o

---------- Post added at 08:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:09 PM ----------

Quoting my own posts from somewhere:
I want to play GBA/DS games on a PSP. Should i buy a branded PSP and brick it? Or should i buy a bricked (lol. Mistake)/2nd hand modded PSP?
Also between PSP 3X and GO which to choose? How to DL/Install ahem version games on the PSP? Will i get all the ori. games in ahem version? Ori. games too expensive. Etc. etc.

---------- Post added at 08:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:15 PM ----------

So whats the custom version which i should look for? I thought that all PSPs/consoles could be cracked/
modded and that only cracked
ones could run emu to play those p/you-know-what games. And
how do i crack/mod the device?
And between 3X and GO i think i'll
go for 3X.

---------- Post added at 08:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:16 PM ----------

Can a modded (homebrew'd) PSP play genuine UMD games?

^Yes it can!
But it'll eat battery pretty quickly due to the additional power needed for motor usage needed for spinning the umd!
