Please Suggest An Ssd - Capacity 120-150 Gb

Hi guyz,

As the title suggests, need to buy an SSD of 120-150 Gb capacity. I need the following:

1. SATA III only (Though my mobo doesnt has SATA III, I will use the hdd with SATA II for now, in March, I will upgrade mobo).
2. Windows 7 64 bit
3. Usage mainly for games

I need something that is more reliable/durable rather than raw speed. So please suggest accordingly.

TIA.

Yes but I also know that SATA III SSD performance drop significantly using SATA II.

Actually, I wanted to inform that please suggest me something with SATA III only as I will be upgrading to IVY bridge next year.

Hmm, still dont get whether you want SATA2 or 3 (1st post indicates you want sata 2, next one sata3). Anyway, consider the Crucial m4 series if you buy from abroad (its a pretty reliable option) , or if you want warranty, you cant go wrong with the corsair force 3 series.

@manishda and @kris

I need SATA III only as it is backward compatible with SATA II. I will get SATA III mobo in March.

@all

Sorry for the confusing op. I have edited it.

well the fastest SATA 3 SSD i have used is the Crucial M4 but its not available in India. there's no point of getting it from USA. mine died. awaiting a replacement. .but its about 10-15% faster than Corsair Force 3.
OCZ Agility / Vertex have a slightly better benchmark score than Corsair in some benches but here i am using both with no practical difference. my files range from 50kb to 4gb and Force 3 performs better than OCZ. i can say that it has better raw performance with/without RAID. in RAID they obviously perform better than the M4.

regarding reliability, i dont think the newer SSD's have any reliability issues. Corsair had em, they recalled, since then they have been running flawlessly. personally, i would have never bought Corsairs if they were unreliable. my work depends on them.

but if you are really worried about reliability then get nothing but Intel. they have their own controller instead of Sandforce afaik.

Thanks to all of you guyz.

@harryneopotter

Can you quote me the price of the Vertex 3? The link Mohit has given says Corsair Force 3 120 gb = 9800/-

Its a quite attracting price.

Ocz Agility Sata III is 11.5k ish in ebay. Is it good also?
