did u try HP USB disk format utility. If your drive is not lost, it can format the drive. else all is gone.. google for it and install it, its a useful utility.

Where did you buy this Pen Drive in question from? Did you get a proper bill with warranty?

I think it could be a fake.

My bro gifted it to me(no bill and cover),,drive was 100% genuine, i was using it from last 3 months,,usable space was around 15.2~15.3 gb,

there was no sign of fake,,so many times i successfully installed ubuntu in it,,,few times i was using it as my windows 7 bootable installer disk, i copied around 14 .5 gb of data as system image. do u still think that it was fake?

yes do one thing contact your nearest service center u will find out its fake or not

if you havent tried it i would say try to format the pen drive in ms-dos........

it willl be something like this "FORMAT C:"

c: being the pen drive (chk which drive is your pen drive before formatting c: is just example)

i tried but still it says ,,,format not possible

even after formatting in MS dos it did not work ....if yes ,then i think your pen drive is dead ..................

i tried dos format and its saying
" C:\Users\gamingkeeda>format h:
Insert new disk for drive H:
and press ENTER when ready...
The type of the file system is RAW.
The new file system is FAT.
