PC Upgrade (not a New Rig)

Budget: Rs 10,000/-

Present Spec:
AMD athlon X4 620
M4A785TD-V EVO

Transcend 1333 (9-9-24) DDR3 Ram (2x2gb)
3x 1TB WD Caviar blue
Coolermaster Real Power Pro 460W (80+ bronze cert.)
Viewsonic VS213239 22" Full HD (LED)
Zebronics bijli cabinet (damaged)

Components from the existing setup that you intend to keep: Everything.

Places from where you will buy components along with your location: Online.

Intended use of the PC [gaming/office use/rendering/HD playback etc]
: Photoshop CS5 / HD playback / Casual gaming

Brand preferences: AMD / ATi

Monitor resolution and size: 1920x1200 22inch

Will you be overclocking your setup?:
Nope.

Which OS will you use?: Windows 7

Okay in the total budget of 10-12K, I intended to do the following upgrades to my pc which is long due. Priority is ascending.
- GPU (something with dual DVI support as I might go dual screens later)
- Cabinet (I know no other alternative other than NXZT gamma)

(optional)
- Memory (RAM) (If the present RAM is good enough since i am not going to overclock, might as well buy more of it.)

Also looking for case fans to order along with the cabinet as I'd need all the fans due to the hot weather that Ahmedabad has.
I do not mind noisy fans if they are insanely fast
Mai bhale pighal jau, pc ko kuch hona nahi chahiye

Finally I'll be ordering these online as no dealer in Ahmedabad is savvy enough to get me the exact components I need. Here you buy what the dealer 'thinks' is 'ekdum mast' for you.

And for the spoiler question, the prices are slowly decreasing but the suppliers are trying to make more of profit by using the Thailand floods issue, btw you got 3TB of hard drive, having space problem??

Re: PC Upgrade (not a New Rig)

Thank you for the inputs, however finally decided on the following components.

NZXT Lexa S case ( 5635/- including shipping and a CM 140mm fan)
Initially was considering the Gamma however it comes only with one fan, while this case comes with 4 included.
Cooling is pretty much a priority as temps in Ahmedabad are quite hot most of the year.
(ordered from primeabgb)

MSI R6670 1GB DDR5 (5822/-)
for a mid range card, does quite well while not requiring me to change my SMPS (for now)
(ordered from flipkart)

Corsair CMV4GX3M1A1333C9 DDR3 4GB x 2 (2432/-)
since i dont plan to OC, pretty much suits what I need.
(ordered from flipkart)

4200/- is the actual price for the Lexa S

Shipping cost me around 650/- + another 650 for the 140mm fan.
Plus some 130 tax for using a card online.

LIAN LI Lancool PC-K62 Black 0.8 mm SECC Mesh ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Ahhhhh that's was a good option. Oh well.
Lexa S seemed quite nice from the reviews I read on hexus and some other sites. Has plenty of HDD bays so that'll do the job for me.

Err that total for the lexa S comes to 4200+650 = 4850.
I just bought an extra fan for the heck of it.

Re: PC Upgrade (not a New Rig)

Try to get a used 550ti at 6k or so
Or a used 6790/6850 which ever you can get cheaper (but 6850 will be better from all the above also a bit pricy so get a used card in erodov classifieds)
Don't change the cabinet just buy a aftermarket cpu cooler like CM HYPER 212 EVO and open the sides of cabi for better airflow to it (though it will be dust magnet but is a cheaper solution).
Buy a good cabinet and upgrade your psu latter.
So a used gpu @6k-8k
Cpu cooler @2k
4Gb ram is enough for games.
Buy a good cabinet like nzxt gamma or carbide 400r latter when you get money.

Re: PC Upgrade (not a New Rig)

550Ti is bad option. Go for HD6770 or 6970 Instead. Much better option.

---------- Post added at 11:34 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:32 AM ----------

btw I have a NZXT Phantom 410 Crafted White Color Cabinet.

Its at par with Carbide 500R. Rox Cooling and Cable Management options. @ 6.1K at Primeabgb
