Wtf No Refund in India for GTX 970 Cards.

I think by now everyone must've learned about the issues with GTX 970.

Now Amazon and Newegg are offering full refunds for the cards and partial refunds (around 30%) with you keeping the card with yourself.

I bought my MSI GTX 970 in end of November from SMC International, Delhi.
Contacted them today , no refunds in India

Anyone contacted their retailer and got refunds etc?

Lets together raise this issue at international level and post a thread for buyers of gtx 970 in india to put pressure on nvidia so that they provide refunds in india tooo
Kingslayer we can create threads at anandtech forum , nvidia , tomshardware ,asus forums and all such forums and post links in this thread so that all erodov owners of 970 can post there And so a pressure on the company can be created
All threads should have a titlle nvidia being unfair not providing refundS in india

No surprise actually. Retailers will not take returns and will direct us to the manufacturers, who in turn will direct us to Nvidia and they have so far claimed the GTX970 was "designed" this way and does not have any problem.

In short, the card has a gimped memory configuration that causes several issues in performance if we utilize over 3.5/4GB of the VRAM. Nvidia falsely advertised it as a 4GB card and the internet is all over them brandishing their pitchforks. --E

If you are gaming @ 1080p/1200p/1440p . The VRAM usage mostly wont go beyond 3.5 GB . Maybe for 4k with all the bells and whistles it will be an issue.

Yes, so far it's OK. But with games utilizing more and more VRAM, it's value as a future proof card has decreased.

Re: No Refund in India for GTX 970 Cards.

I think vram is just a small issue.

The primary issue is Nvidia lied to the consumer about the specs.

The card has a 2 memory partitons (3.5 and .5) and both cannot be accessed at the same time.

ROPS and L2 cache is not what is mentioned in the specs.
@sn1992 we can try posting in other forums bro, count me in.

Re: No Refund in India for GTX 970 Cards.

Nvidia india is explaining that there wont be problems in performance so i dont think they would resolve the issue now brand partner people will be responsible as they are the end provider of the product and manufactured in brand partner factories
So they would provide solution
Companies like zotac, palit, evga are accepting returns in global
Asus is also a reliable company and i am sure they will come with a solution in some time

Lets wait and see what asus people can do and help us all

Re: No Refund in India for GTX 970 Cards.

I am also an user of GTX 970 strix and please count me in, too for the peition as well. Vram may not be an issue for now mut it can be later on. I was also planning to buy another Strix for SLI when I get bigger monitor and I am surely going to face issues at that time. After all, the product is not as it is mentioned in the specifications. Hence, we should get our money back.
