New Dual Socket EVGA Board Pictured
by Prash 01-02-2010

Dual socket LGA 1366 Motherboard from EVGA!

ECGA is cooking up something new! A new dual socket Core i7 board is in the making and will be unveiled at CES 2010. EVGA has started giving out it's pics but is 'mum' about the specifications. It has just said " Yes, it is a Classified model. And has all the features one would expect on a Classified". I guess more details will be released soon, and we just have to wait a bit more. Have a look at the pictures for now.

Below, are the twitter messages through which the picture and news was spilled by EVGA. Damn, they really don't want to give out any solid details right now.

Having a couple of i7s on this board and lot of memory to play with, should be godlike to many of the computer and video encoding enthusiasts. Also remember, Intel will release it's "Gulftown" or Core i9 processors very soon, and they are backward compatible with LGA1366 boards. So a couple of 6 core i9s on one of these boards - hmmm yummy.

EVGA is also working on a new Nvidia SLI enhancement patch, but again, has only given a screenie of related data in an xml file.

More to come from EVGA, stay tuned.

Update: New Pics :

Full board pic:

It needs 3x 6-pin and 2x 8-pin and has mostly has 2x NF200 by the PCI-E.

Its E-XL-ATX board and needs a cabby that supports 9 or more expansion slots

Regards,
Prash

Whoooaaa ! this is amazing, EVGA is going great guns for sure. a dual socket board for desktop processors is such a welcome sign to come. Although I have seen many Tyan boards doing dual or a quad processor boards but I am excited as to what this can do. paired with 4 SSD's in a Raid 0 and 12 GB of rams this will be so awesome, not to mention the HT makes it a virtual 24 thread solution.

I wish I could buy one such setup (but the price tag wont let me damn). I would've simply run almost a dozen OSes of different falvours just for fun and tryout new features without having to worry much about performance.
