Re: New DSLR for Beginner

Opt for the d3200 or d3300
The 1200d hasnt got many good reviews and i have used 600d..not too pleased with it.
Go for d3200 with 18-55 and 55-200 lens

Re: New DSLR for Beginner

Any good deals that you know of ?? Nikon seems to be atleast 10k expensive than the dual kit combo & is it worth the extra money ? How's 600D or D5200 since they fall in the same price bracket as the D3300 ??

Which 55-200 lens ? Any links would be really helpful.

Re: New DSLR for Beginner

Which lens should I be looking at for Nikon for better zoom (18-200, 50-200 ??) since I would require it with the camera as well

Re: New DSLR for Beginner

50-200 is fine or you can go upto 300 as well if you wanna talk wildlife stuff . but i would suggest you get the camera first, get used to the basic first and then move on to zoom lens, prime.lens.etc

Option - d3200 body only. 20k
Lens 1 - 18-105mm Approx 20k .
2nd lens sigma 150-500mm around 70k.

I guess I will go for the Nikon 50-200mm. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Re: New DSLR for Beginner

Ultimately went ahead with Nikon D3300 with kit lens for 27k. Also ordered the remote & Nikon 55-200mm VR lens which was around 7.2k

Thanks for all the suggestions in the thread. Now where do I start off with the basics of DSLR shooting is the next big question. Have gone through a couple of Nikon DSLR videos but I think I need a lot more insight. Kindly suggest.

Regards

There are many advanced cameras from Nikon, and it is the best brand as well. Price is also not too high, so I will surely go with Nikon cameras, probably Nikon Coolpix AW120.

Re: New DSLR for Beginner

My bet would be to go for Nikon D3200. A fantastic entry-level camera with superb detail reproduction and a decent kit-lens to boot.

PROS:
Excellent guide mode
24MP sensor
Full HD video

Also users who are unlikely to invest in a second, longer focal length range can crop into images post-capture and still retain a large enough pixel count for high quality images
