Nature & Wildlife Photography Thread

Please use this thread for posting photographs of nature and wildlife. Avoid posting very large sized photographs as this can cause inconvenience to people and make it difficult to navigate the thread.

Edit: Since people cant seem to understand a simple request, all images above 500kb will be deleted.

Let me start off with a few flower pics that I shot today morning. The images have been resized at a lower resolution and quality, Please click on the images for higher resolution
pics.

Nice pic Kundya, but it is much too large which takes the whole pleasure out of the photo and thread. Please resize it and post it.

Re: Nature & Wildlife Photography Thread

Thanks for the resize Kundya, If I may say so... The chameleon is not in sharp focus, perhaps the focus is not correct or the aperture is a bit too low.

Yes but the tree and the chameleon are not on the same level. The tree trunk is round and while you have got the front of the tree in sharp focus, the chameleon is halfway along the breadth of the trunk which appears to be a few inches away from the point of focus. Even the difference of a few millimeters can put the subject out of focus at low apertures. So you have the front of the trunk in sharp focus but the main subject going out of focus here.

Re: Nature & Wildlife Photography Thread

Kundya, use right top button on your 550D to select any of the custom AF points.
e.g when you click it, all the buttons will illuminate red. Now you can press set to select just the center point and use left or right or up and down arrows to select any of the AF points.

Select the point you think lie on top of Chamaleon's eye but camera was no selecting it.
You do not need higher f number to get a chipkali in focus, you need to understand how to use your DSLR's autofocus system.

That's a magnificent photo blufox, I suppose that the camera was following the bird before/after you clicked it. Yes ?
