My Lappy is Overheating !!! Plz Help

guys my laptop these days is really overheating . few times it has even shut down instantly . what could be problem ,,,, the fan is nearly always making noise after small time only . i just use firefox and chrome n media player together .nothing else i do . what to do ????

Clean up the vents and heatsink asap!

Insert a long pin to prevent the fan from rotating(when the lappy is off) and blast air from the fan side(and hs side too) using a blower or airduster can!

Keep doing that until no more dust comes out!

That usually does it!

@megan, I suggest that you take the lappy to a service center and ask them to clear the air passage..
that will be the best, those sex chat sites take the cpu for a ride and thus you are facing this problem, but Please don't them them that !!!

Turn it off, close the screen(lid) and invert the laptop!

You will see circular holes cut out with meshes or something!

And yea, you can blow air in the place where hot air comes from, but only after blowing it from around the fan area!
(And cover your nose with a face mask or a handkerchief!!)

Its a sign that you need to spend less time on chat roulette. Your laptop seems to be swinging the other way and cannot handle you taking off your clothes for unknown bots.

On a more serious note, since you're not even sure where the vents are located, take it to some hardware repair shop and pay them some money (max. 500/-) and get it fixed.

But seriously dude, stop wasting time on chat roulette and get a life.

there are no holes or openings under my laptop only one side from where hot air comes out .

500 rs wasted ! i just spend little time chatting . any weekday if u see i only come onlin after 8-9 pm at night . rest day i never am online etc. , in weekend i am more online but only at night .

any idea which cheap n good shop to go @JD666 since u live in gurgaon im asking

You can try blowing some pressurized air in that vent as well!

ya no holes , only on left side there are some from where hot air comes ,no other openings

Go to SuperMart 1 in DLF phase 4, there are two computer hardware shops there, both can help you with cleaning your laptop. Else post pictures of the back of the laptop.
