Introduction

While all of us have been going berserk over the latest offerings from NVIDIA and AMD, but most of the GPU sales still happen in the Low/Mid Budget range. And it is exactly in this segment where MSI's OCed version of 9600GT (N9600GT-T2D512-OC) graphics card is placed.

The MSI 9600GT sports a higher clock speed and a unique cooling solution compared to the stock 9600GT. But what we would really love to see is whether it can outperform a stock 9600GT and to what level will it outperform, in the games we play.

Thanks for the fine review Ankit. I agree, even though many cards have come after the 9600GT; it remains to be an excellent mid range choice in India.

Well MSI 9600gt faces a BSOD problem i.e. d game crashes in between,complete black screen while d cpu runs normal...

Good and short review. Though you can add more pics of the card, and give a short hardware description. Also mention the pricing of the two cards being compared. If there is a difference of 1000-1500 between the two, then they are not in the same league and the lower performance of 4670 is justified.

Repped, but do improve it further!

@JD666, AFAIK the price difference was only Rs 400, I was quoted 5600 for this and 5200 for 4670 when I bought it(Was sometime ago). Will add few more pics of the card ASAP.

@SidK... I tested the games you mentioned in the post and didnt get the BSOD issue, the BSOD issue was in all the over clocked versions of the 9600GT i.e. from other Manufacturers as well (Inc EVGA and Palit) and was primarily reported in the first batch of these cards, the issue was fixed in later versions of these cards. If you are still experiencing issues, I would recommend that you RMA the card.

Then i feel that this card is totally worth the extra 400 bucks even. Which 4670 did u bench it against?
