| teh geeK!   | Mini [E] Meet:   Date: 20/11/09 Time: 11:30am to 5:00pm Locations to be traversed: Rohini, CP, Chawdi Bazaar Means: Delhi Metro DareD[E]vils: Sidk and me As you might’ve already guessed, this ‘meet’ was supposed to be held over a week back, but was held on the 10th because it involves super punctual always on his feet Sidk. The basic agenda of this meet was to go to Chawdi Bazaar and buy a rotary tool, visit harryneopotter’s home in Rohini to collect some money that sid had transferred to hnp’s account, go to Connaught place to have lunch and buy some games, and roam Palika bazaar and also to experience of the awesomeness that is the Delhi Metro – A Dream come true. Sid lives in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad which is quite far from any metro station so he had to first take an auto rickshaw to Noida City Centre and take the metro from there… He left his home at around 11am, after much persuasion from me. He reached the Noida City Centre at I think around 11:20am, at which point of time I finally got my lazy ass out of bed and into the shower. I live in Mayur Vihar Phase-1, so my home is hardly a 5 minute walk to the metro station, ok 5 minute rickshaw ride…  I reached the station at around 11:40am after which I had to wait 5 minutes for Sid’s ‘train’ to arrive at the MV-1 station. After we met, and exchanged some ‘pleasantries’ we boarded the train to Rajiv Chowlk where we had to change trains for Chawdi Bazaar. Now, for some interesting facts, this metro line of Noida – Delhi has opened just recently, hardly 2 weeks ago… The officials estimated an average of around 56,000 passengers after mid 2011… Now for the kicker, over 76,600 people boarded this metro line on its opening day!!! Now, it gets an average of 70,000 passengers each day so it’s pretty much like a rave party in there most of the time… Also, these couple of days it was even more crowded than usual because of the Pragati Maidan International Trade Fair. After much confusion at the Rajiv Chawlk station we took the train to Chawdi Bazaar, which was even more crowded, had to stand the whole journey… but still it was kinda fun…  Tayal "Screw House" lol !!Chawdi Bazaar is old Delhi, so once you enter it, it is pure India, pure bliss…. Now, as you people might already know, how professional we people are, so we directly got to business… I started enquiring about the rotary tool, while Sid started asking people about it by showing a pic of a dremel on his cell. This was around 12:15-12:30pm and was pretty hot… Neither of us had had breakfast so we had some nice gol guppas… Damages – Rs 10 for 5pieces. Nice deal. Again, back to business, looking for the rotary tool, we tried every word possible to describe it but to no avail, we must’ve searched over 20 shops but only around 5 of them knew what we were talking about , and still did not have it… Most of them showed us polishing tools… or another tool used for cutting that works much like the tattoo machine, with a blade going back and forth really fast... There were around 2-3 models... a Rs 850/- one and a Rs 2200/- one… But it did not appeal much to us, so we decided to let go of that for then and then had some delicious ‘dal ka laddoos’ Damages - 10 bucks a plate (10 pieces) and then the search for resumed, but nothing came out of it… It was around 2:45pm and we finally gave up, and decided to board the metro to CP… As soon as we reached CP, we went straight to Palika Bazaar which is easily the most awesomest market in all of Delhi, but you’ve to be smart, because if you lose your mind for even once, you’re gonna get fleeced… bad.. Seriously, I’ve seen idiots foreigners pay upwards of a 100$ for a pirated disk of an Indian movie, something you can buy easily for Rs 75/-… First of- we went to the Sardarji’s shop, it’s a very good shop for consoles and stuff… Sid wanted to buy Counter Strike Source; he quoted 650/-… we got it down to 550/-.. Then, we thought let’s look around a bit more… After some looking around and finding no better deal, we went to Wimpy’s… Ah! Lamb burger and Chicken Nuggets… good stuff… I’ll gladly pay Tuesday, for a Hamburger today….. After eating and staring at some nice ‘cleavage’– seriously what do you expect?? We went back to Palika Bazaar; this was around 3:45pm… This time we went from a different entrance and just started to look around, but alas, the ‘cleavage’ had apparently turned Sid so horny, that he started to ask for prices of dildos and ‘massagers’ which was frankly hilarious because all the shopkeepers did nothing except ask.. Kaunsa wala 150/- wala ya 550/- wala, then one asked, do you want for yourself or for your girlfriend!!!?? This comment just made that trip completely worth the effort... Ok so anyways, we’re looking around at 250GB pen drives and more dildos for Sid when a person actually offered us the Date-Rape drug…. I believe his actual words were:”bas ek drop chai ya coke main aur fir mazaa hi mazaa”… this was a first for me and this seriously shook me, as to how easily people are able to sell these horrible pills so easily in one of the largest markets in Delhi…  500 GB !!After that, we moved on to more shops, when I saw just what I wanted for Christmas this year… A freaking 500GB pen drive… and I was like ROFLcopter, we decided to have some fun, and told the vendor that those were probably fake, he got all fussed, and said they’re not, then we said that put it in your lappy and then we’ll believe, and if it’s for real we’ll buy it there and then… He obviously, to defend his honour, checked it for us, and ofcourse properties showed it as 500 GB, but when we asked him to format it, he said that he can’t format it and asked us to leave, then two of the guys who had shops right beside him started to laugh of him which was again pretty hilarious... After that, we went to the Sardarji’s shop again where Sid bought the CS-Source finally…. And then we left Palika, this was around 4:30pm… We got into the metro, and ofcourse it was still crowded as hell, then something amazing happened… Sid actually asked two girls sitting on the ladies row to sit on top of one another so that he could sit down, I kicked him, and he kept standing . The girls though actually sat on one another!! They were not bad too…. We abandoned the plan of going to hnp’s house because it was too late… So anyways, Sid’s mom starts calling me at that time, because Sid did not tell her, where he was going, as far as she knew, he was studying for his chemistry test in his friend’s house, also, his phone as usual was ‘discharged’… She gave me like 3 missed calls, so when we finally reached my stop, I gave her a call, Sid had me lie to her that I did not know where Sid was… The look on Sid’s face was priceless because it was like the silence before a storm, he knew he was gonna be facing some music when he got home… After that, he boarded his train to City centre while I went home… I know this article sucks, did not have much time to work on it…
