Re: KTM Duke in Da House!!!!!

Thanks guys.. Yes its a very impressive machine.. I am having more fun riding this than the ninja that I had... And that was even more powerful.

The torque is really impressive, and you can potter around in 4th gear at 25-30 kmph all day. the grunt is impressive, and the engine note even more so.

I gotta keep it below 7500 rpm for the first 1000 kms, so trying really hard to do so. Already done about 60 kms today, Amazing riding.

This is'nt a highway machine, however its absolutely ahead , miles ahead when it comes to traffic, The torque curve will have you surprising many a riders trying to mess around..

- Changed the air in the tyre from regular to nitrogen, made a hell of a difference to the ride/handling.

- You can custom set your shift point ( 2 points ). The light starts blinking from the first point, till it becomes steady when the second point is reached. ( Currently set at 5500 - 7500 ).

- There is a readout for how many kms left till service. First at 1000, second at 5000 and third at 10,000. It gets reset at the workshop, so you know the countdown till the next one.

- 30,000 - 2 years warranty.

- The headlight beam spread is excellent. Far better than any single beam light that I have seen out there. High beam is overkill! Its so powerful!! 60W/55W Osram H4 bulbs.

- Its a head turner for sure.. and how they have managed to keep the sound within the permissible limits is beyond me. I love the growl!!!

Re: KTM Duke in Da House!!!!!

Thanks everyone!!!

Lets just put it this ways -

- KTM duke 200 - 1.3L

- 7 litres of premium fuel - 500 rs

- Going to work to drop the wifey, and making the round trip in 50 minutes ( which would have taken 1.45 hours ) - Priceless!!

Yup the on board computer does show 35, and I am expecting it to be around that. Keeping it below 7000 revs will eke out maximum mileage.

But remember that the recommended fuel for this bike is 91octane ( Compression ratio 11.3:1 ). So factor in the additional cost of buying such fuel.

Congrats JD bro for owning this machine, currently its my fav machine, always liked KTM for their superb bikes. It might have been hard for you to keep the front tyre on the ground i think with the insane acceleration .
