Kingston Launches DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 Flash Drive

Kingston, today announced the Kingston DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 which is targetted for enthusiasts and gamers, and is Kingston's fastest flash drive yet.

Its data transfer rates on USB 3.0 are up to 225MB/s read and 135MB/s write. Users can save time associated with opening, editing and copying large files and applications between devices. The fast read-write speeds should allow users to work on large files or applications directly from the USB 3.0 drive without having to copy it to a HDD first.

“Enthusiasts have long known HyperX as the memory of choice for overclockers and power users who need the most performance from system memory,” said Nathan Su, Flash memory Sales Director, APAC Region, Kingston. “The new DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 USB Flash drive continues this tradition. With the fastest speeds and largest capacity, this storage device is the perfect solution for users who require high performance and carry a lot of data.”

The DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 would be available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities.

Nopes, but those read/write speed seems impressive to me, if only pricing is not a complete killer. Would be willing to spend like say Rs. 700 for a 4GB drive.....

^^ Such speeds would make it great for a portable OS install as well. I remember installing Ubuntu netbook edition on a sandisk titanium. 30 + mbps transfer speeds made it pretty smooth.
