iPhone OS 3.1, iPod Touch 64GB, iPod Nano with Camera

It keeps getting better and better!
Apple pulled another trick out of the sleeve today. Announced today at the rock and roll event, these new updates just enforced the faith the loyalists have come to place on the Cupertino based company. While it is slightly disappointing that the new iPod Touch doesn't come with a camera, the upper end 64GB storage surely paves the way for a iPhone with 64GB storage. The 3.1 OS (and the free-if-you-know-how iPod Touch 3.1.1 update) bring in a couple of new features and loads of improvements. The iPod Nana with camera is definitely +ve... should go a long way in increasing the already large user base of iPod Touch users.

The iTunes 9 update also brings in a few new attractions. Particularly notable are iTunes LP, Genius Remixes (they got to make something good of all that free statistical data they are collecting), Genius Recommendations, and massively improved syncing features (particularly related to iPhone.)

YEa saw this at engagdet .. really disappointed.. Touch doesnt has Camera.. i dont think people with old gen of Touch would upgrade..as for Nano..the screen is so small for a camera?
and 3.1 os fail.. Genius mix for app store :x do we even use it for the music? :x

I guess they didnt add a Camera to the iPod Touch, since it would encroach upon iPhone territory... Pretty much expected?
But atleast the hardware was bumped upto iPhone 3GS levels.

I really like that the Nano, now has a Camera, FM Radio, and Nike+ Integration. Not bad at all.

iTunes 9 is just kickass! On OSX iTunes anyway play's my music the best, and with the homescreen customizations etc, its absolutely ****ing WIN!

Yea from what i see Apple screwed us 2G owners.. the Firmware upgrade is anything new for us at all + they roll out a cheaper faster Touch ... nice .. Do u really think people with older touch wud upgrade... ??

no, apple fans wont realize that. even if the new iPod has GSM and camera they will still buy iPhone thinking it is a different device.

what good can the bumped up hardware do to the iPod? will it improve the sound quality?

most important point is that the sound quality of the ipod nano is bad for the money people pay. so, has apple done anything abt that?

i compared a 1000 buck player i got from Singapore with the nano using similar earphones and found the nano to be inferior in SQ.

Apple boarded the failboat this time imo.

Ipod Touch 8gb will sell like anything but people just wont upgrade from 2G ..thats my Opinion...
