JPeople.. just get the Nokia 5800 ..... no Quickpwn- no Jailbreak - no Hacktivate just buy and use legit as your own. You aren't chained to any network and it costs a lot less.

It works damn well as a phone, has great reception etc.
Gets you fast internet with 3G (wherever available) and gets you EDGE where its not.
You have a Camera which is good enough to "capture the moment".
You have GPS which works pretty damn well, as I found out when I was in Bangalore.
It has better Battery Life than competing devices (Yes, this is true, Ask Karan about his N96's dismal battery life)

Those features are NOTHING, NOTHING AT ALL, when it comes to the AppStore.

The iPhone is about Applications. Nothing else. Just Entertainment, Productivity, Music and Games.

Apple changed the way cellphones are looked at. I respect them over anything else, solely for that. They created the AppStore, which even the likes of Google are now copying with Android Market.

Nokia, can't do anything to combat the iPhone and the AppStore.
Google and Android are the only hope for even a decent competitor for the iPhone + AppStore.

The N-Gage Gaming Platform is a JOKE compared to the AppStore, and the AppStore has only been here for 6 months.
n-Gage has existed for almost a decade now, all it took Apple was 6 months, lesser actually, to even beat the Windows Mobile Platform in terms of Applications.

The 5800 is a good enough entry level phone. Its a very good entry level touch screen, Ill give it that. Infact, I almost wanted to buy one as a second phone.

Also, the 5800 is missing one crucial thing, USABILITY. Infact ALL the other touch phones miss this. All of them are a b1tch to use.
Even the iPhone haters will agree that nothing, absolutely nothing, comes close to the ease of use and innovation of the iPhone.
With Multi-Touch, Multi-Touch Swipes, etc, games are innovative and FUN.
Dont trust me on this, go and google "Rolando" its the best ever game, I have ever seen on the portable platform. PSP included.
Its so good, that I spent 10$ on it, AFTER finishing it using a cracked version.

So you can bark about whatever the 5800 does better, eg. Camera 3.2MP with Flash, Higher Resolution LCD (320x640 vs. 320x480 on the iPhone).

But those are HARDWARE related.
What makes you think Apple isnt going to update the iPhone?
I bet well soon be seeing a 3.2-5MP camera in the iPhone, also Stereo Speakers, also a higher resolution screen.
But the basics will stay the same, so that the AppStore is always common the all the iPhones, Present and Future.

Nothing, i repeat nothing, Nokia can throw at the iPhone is superior SOFTWARE wise.

+1 I would agree with adi even though i dnt own a iphone but would love do that one day.. Iphone is the phone which changed how we look at mobile devices. Its an ICON...it was the transition from key pads to touch in whole new way...

I used Yellowsn0w 0.9.4 on my best friends (Rowin) AT&T locked phone (used a Vodafone IN SIM, using it in India ofcourse), and it WORKS!

Call out, Call in, SMS out, SMS in. Will test DATA soon with my Vodafone IN SIM.

Some more good news!

It works on my phone as well.

I could use my Airtel SIM on my Vodafone locked phone, without any issues. SMS & Call, In/Out, Data, perfect.

Again, Method used : Install Yellowsn0w, 2 Reboots from BossPrefs.
