| Tiger Style | Intel rumored to have cancelled first-gen CPUs with integrated graphics
With AMD already delaying its first Fusion chips to 2011, a salty new rumor is saying that the tables have turned and that Intel has decided to cancel the Havendale and Auburndale CPUs with integrated graphics.
Apparently a decision highly influenced by the global economic crisis, the cancellation would see the 45nm-built desktop (Havendale) and mobile (Auburndale) chips take a one way trip to oblivion and leave the path open for the already planned 32nm CPU + GPU silicon, codenamed Arandale. Set to be manufactured using 32nm process technology, the Arandale processors are expected to make their debut at the end of Q1 2010, still giving Intel the time advantage when it comes to "Fusion" parts. No point in crying over Havendale and Auburndale now as we'll be getting a lot of other interesting things from Intel this year, like those Lynnfield (Core i5?) CPUs.
