Intel I3 530 Vs Core2duo E8300

Hi guys. I am bit confused over which processor to buy between Intel i3 530 and E8300 . They almost cost the same but i3 530 supports 4 threads but E8300 doesn't.Even the clock speeds of i3 is more than E8300. So let me know which is best and also suggest me suitable motherboard for it. My budget is < 6k and looking for intel processor.Plz help me,

Er, no it costs less than that.. Around 5.8k or 5.5k.

Since DDR2 and DDR3 prices are averaging around the same now, you might as well get the i3 setup. It'll perform better, overclock better and all that hoopla.

Well, its 5.5k at TheITWares and 5.6k at SMC.

@pboy However, for an i3 setup, you'll have to get a new motherboard and new RAM.

And I doubt you'd get an E8300 within 6k. The E7500 with VT and all that jazz itself is 5k or so.

Re: Intel I3 530 Vs Core2duo E8300

the i3 530 is way faster. Its even faster than the E8600. It all comes down to the $$$$. A decent H55 mobo is some Rs5.5k...

Don't think you'll be able to get an i3+mobo under 10k. You may get an E8300+mobo for a bit less, but the i3 is much faster and overclocks better too.
