I need help in buying/building a new PC. My budget and requirements are as follows:
  • Budget: Rs 20,000/-
  • Existing hardware setup: Intel 286 CPU, homebrew Mobo, 64kb RAM
  • Components from the existing setup that you intend to keep: none/homebrew mobo
  • Components that you have in mind for your new PC: Intel 486 CPU
  • Plans to upgrade in the future: Maybe GPU after 35-40 years
  • Places from where you will buy components along with your location: Wankener, Gujrat/ Online
  • Are comfortable with buying secondhand component from the Erodov market? : Yes/No
  • Intended use of the PC [gaming/office use/rendering/HD playback etc] : Playing tetris, Facebook,
  • Brand preference: Amarbir Corp.
  • Monitor resolution and size: 1920x1200 22inch
  • Will you be overclocking your setup?: Yes of course not.
  • Which OS will you use?: Slackware
Intel 486 will be too fast for the requirements. 386 will fit in nicely here and with planned GPU upgrade after 35-40years, the system can go easily for 1 century.
