Eureka Forbes is the oldest among the lot. Another good option is Kent.

Most of the Eureka Forbes aquaguards are linked to water supply

This is the latest from Eureka Forbes; according to them, this is what you want : Aquaguard Total Sensa Water Purifier - Water Purification with Blu G Technology | Eureka Forbes Limited

It has eBoiling-UV-RO-UF-SMP+ everything that you'll need for 2012

Re: Help Me Decide on a Water Purifier!!!

i agree with POPOz,

However if the water in your area is really hard, a water softening machine could be installed for the ultimate purification.

Or else, order mineral water bottles ( Bisleri ) in 25 litre jars. Thats what i do. Water tastes fine and no issues.

Apparently RO water removes minerals from the water being filtered, rendering it pretty useless.

Re: Help Me Decide on a Water Purifier!!!

ASS of nearly all the RO companies is the same ( even local ones that i have seen in gurgaon ). They take a AMC after the first year or in the first year itself, come clean the RO, the bottle etc etc on regular intervals or when u want em to.

Go with eureka.

Get the Eureka Forbes. By ASS, do you mean butt or after sales service ? Support in Kolkata is very good, can vouch for that.

Yup RO removes minerals as well....That's the tradeoff if you want safety.
@JB by Bisleri you actually mean Bisleri right ...coz everywhere it's like Bisleri is the term for packaged drinking water regardless of the manufacturer.

Re: Help Me Decide on a Water Purifier!!!

Call up the Eureka rep and he will test the water and advice you on the same. The hardness will decide if RO is needed or not. Minerals or not, it is still better than drinking hard water which can play havok on the kidney.

Yup, water jars by Bisleri. You get local companies as well ~ 40-50 rs per 25 litres of water. Bisleri is 75 Rs per Jar, but atleast it comes factory sealed, and all the jars taste the same. Local Mineral water companies have questionable packing and filtration, not that Bisleri would be any saint either.

We use about 2 jars every 5-6 days, so its about 500-600 rs a month.

You could, but then the absorption is better thru water. And minerals would be suspended better in a liquid than a solid. My mom used to have joint pains a couple of months after she started using RO water. After switching back to normal UV and Catridge filter, no issues.

You can always install a water softener ( big investment, but worth it ), and a conventional purification system.

Re: Help Me Decide on a Water Purifier!!!

Bisleri is not mineral water. It is packaged drinking water. They used to get away with their calling the packaged water as mineral water but now it is prohibited by law.

Water from an underground source that contains at least 250 parts per million total dissolved solids is called mineral warer. Minerals and trace elements must come from the source of the underground water. They cannot be added later and called mineral water.

Secondly you can get unhealthy water even if it is coming from Aquagaurd with e-boiling, e-hype etc. The water purification requirements differ from area to area. One filter does not fit all. Read the article on water purifiers in this months issue of Popular science.
