HD2 Vs Miltstone Vs X10 vs GPhone

|

Hi guys,

If someone wants to get out of the iPhone jail(break ), which phone would be best for him... any why?

My money would go with the X10. Remember, he would never upgrade 'down' so he would expect same/better music quality, etc.

Regards,
Karan misra

Re: HD2 Vs Miltstone Vs X10

Ill get stuck on the HD2/Milestone Dilemma...since X10 does not have a physical keypad....

Since your coming from a Iphone.... X10 might suit you well

My sincere suggestion would be to keep the Iphone with you, and buy me a classified, 5970 and send it across to India,

I think it is a matter of personal choice and so I would put my money on the HD2, aint nothing better than that.

HD2 doesnt have a keyboard as well.

So if physical keyboard is a must, you are limited to the Milestone

Both HD2 and X10 have Snap Dragon processors though

Re: HD2 Vs Miltstone Vs X10

X10 is a erratic phone, here at engadget is a report and video, I think it is OK but not great.
XPERIA X10 hands-on: lukewarm edition (now with video!) -- Engadget Mobile
We've seen the new Android-based XPERIA X10 from Sony Ericsson at a fast pace and a snail's pace, but have we ever seen it so stunningly middle of the road? We just got a chance to play with the phone in person for the second time, and from our random sampling of three or four different handsets, it seems that performance is very contingent upon how much content is loaded into the device and what particular thing it's trying to perform. Sometimes we'd fly through the stacks of faces, while other times we'd sit there waiting for the simplest thumbnails to load up. The good news is that we have until next year to see this thing really come together, and the word is that the software is improving and a rapid pace. The big change about this phone is the "Nexus" UX platform, which actually all takes place in two "apps" at the moment, Timescape and Mediascape. Timescape is an integrated view for social networking and messaging, with an "infinite view" to see all types of communications for a particular person, while Mediascape is a more tame media app with a modicum of internet and social integration. It all seems very logically placed, and we like the fact that SE hasn't really sacrificed the Android experience -- you can still do Gmail and the Android Market and so forth, with very familiar UIs -- but it's going to have to be a lot more bulletproof before it hits the market if Sony Ericsson really expects us to use this day to day. Oh, also: the soft keyboard is terrible. We hear they're working on it, but boy does it need work.

HD2 has no physical keypad either.

If you want an HD2, you have to bear in mind the limitations of Winmo 6.5. Even cooked ROMs can only do so much about it. I'd have to go with the X10 here coz anything would be better than WinMo at the moment.

If you want to wait a bit more, let Winmo7 get released because HD2 is fully upgradable to Winmo7. Don't jump into the purchase unless you get a good whiff of the software itself. Sense UI is just amazing but like I said, Winmo shows up its ugly self here and there.

You can wait further and check out the Nexus One. HTC phones usually release on O2 in the UK iirc? I doubt though that it'd have multi-touch aka pinch zooming for one. The milestone does have multi-touch and so should be the number 1 contender against the X10. I'm not sure about an SE phone because I've never used one. Someone shed some light on the OS/UI and then you do the comparison. And do not forget youtube review videos. They'll guide you like no other.

Re: HD2 Vs Miltstone Vs X10 vs GPhone

Basically, it's a tie right now between the milestone and the Nexus One. I won't even look at the HD2 for now because Winmo7 is the only OS that would do justice to the kind of hardware tucked into that beast. Wait, watch and then react.

X10 is your other option. I'd recommend that you talk to someone who actually owns an Xperia.

Alright, here it is:

The milestone has multi-touch which means you'd be able to pinch zoom in your browser and google maps section. The Nexus One does not have multi-touch which means double-tap zooming. However, the Nexus One has been reported to be faster than the Droid!
