Guaranteed 53X/54X Working Multiplier 2700K/2600K/2500K - Free Tandoori Chicken

1 Attachment(s)
So I was doing this for a forum member who requested a guaranteed working multiplier chip and thought of extending it to other members as well.

As interested people might already know, even with the best of cooling, with Sandybridge K Processors, one can get a chip which will have a wall at a specific Multiplier/Mhz and no amount of cooling or Voltage can overcome that wall. So here is a chance to ensure that you do not become unlucky and get a chip which does not have a low multi wall.

I would guarantee 52X/53X chip for a very small extra fees of Rs. 200 (this is not for Profit or anything but can be considered as Petrol Charges to visit the market). I would be going only on Saturdays to Nehru Place, so bill would be from SMC and of the weekend when you send the money. You will have full Retail warranty on the chip.

Higher Multiplier is possible as well but for that we will have to take the discussion on PM.

So, is it that you will test these chips first to ensure it is a good chip and then ship it, and if it is not then thanks to your good rapport with SMC, they will change it, is it so? ;)

Yes, thats how it would be, the first chip that I have tested/sold was a 54X, http://overclockingxtreme.com/index....ttach=24;image

Thanks for letting me know, transparency is a good thing. ;)

And also now the guys buying would know that the box would be opened and it is only because it is a tested chip.

Sure, please be reminded this is not any sort of earning venture, last chip I posted, I spent Rs. 50 on VGA cable because didnt take my monitor to the testing place, then bought a Rs. 250 Keyboard because there were none. And ofcourse Petrol.

Without Testing there is no way of guaranteeing the max multi the chip can do, :D

Yeah. I'll have to do some buttering up though. But yeah, I understand the implications of getting a great clocker. I've just gotten lucky with most of my chips, except my current one. Had a 3Ghz San Diego, a CCBBE Opty 165, and a 0929 550BE that unlocked and did 4Ghz quad.

Yup, without pre-testing its all about luck with these 2600K/2500K's. Let me tell you my experience with the SB chips, I have tested around 25 chips, out of which 1 which is mine is 56X, 1 is 54X which I am selling to a member, 2 were 53X, around 10 were 52X, rest were ranging from 48X to 51X

As such yes, but they go out in Trays only to OEMs, rest are all packed etc by batch and serial number. Earlier by looking at the batch number overclockers were able to determine the probability of a good chip, but even after numerous testing of 1000's of chip and tracking their Batch number and serial number, no one has been able to determine a way to increase the probability of finding a good chip. For eg. all the 25 chips that I have tested are from the same batch number, but they range from all out bad to great chips.

Thats rather random binning. Sucks.

So much variations in multipliers that too for one particular batch?...Is that done for a purpose that now overclockers have to run trial and error on chips :/

And so while doing all of this Banik hopes to find a "Golden" chip which will beat all the others?

Exactly why I am doing this, :D, see without proper cooling and skills people might not be even able to find the chips limit, most will anyways be happy once they reach 5.0Ghz/ 5.2Ghz / 5.4Ghz but I am not exactly satisfied with my 56X chip and hoping to get a 57X or a 58X chip
