General 7.1 Speaker System Help Needed.

Hey guys,

I have a Creative Inspire P7800 7.1 system at home which I got late 2007, used it for sometime, then packed it up. I ended up using it a bit in 08 until the adapter gave out. I thought the pressure of the speakers just made it conk off and the power adapter was still working, and I packed it up. I finally opened it up after over a year and a half to test and see if it was working.

Now it seems that the speakers work ( I used a multi adapter with a slightly lower voltage rating, and voila! The wired remote lit up. I was so happy, then, some 30 seconds later, the multi adapter blew up cuz it couldnt handle )

The adapter is a 110v adapter ( Creative UA 1460 ) and I had used it with a cheap voltage converter that cost like 400 bucks or so. So the adapter is gone.

Specs :

Input - 120v 1000mA
Output - 13.5v - 6A

So now, I have two things to do. First, find another adapter for this. Today I'll head to the station side and see if I can acquire a decent one.

Next, sell the damn thing. We live in a house that's 1/3rd the size of the house we own in the US. So unfortunately, I won't be able to keep these speakers. Or, I can keep them and sell the Altec Lansing VS2321 set that I'm using ( but those are 2.1, 110v, and require a 110-220v converter, and the one which I have is heavy duty and would cost as much as the speakers )

So,

1. How much would the adapter cost?
2. The set is in full working condition. How much can I sell it for? With or without the adapter? Creative support states that you can use any adapter, as long as the voltage and amperage are the same as the original.

I'd really appreciate help on this guys.

Thanks in advance.

-Aumkar

EDIT - Its a 90w set with EAX support and all that. But I'm sure that info can be googled.

I know of a place where they make adapters to spec as well.

So if you don't find it at lamington, we can get it made.

yup, for the additional load you need a specific adapter, its more like a mini transformer that you used to get for TV sets and refrigerators to stabilize the electricity. That will be able to take the load easily.
