Matrix Trilogy is hitting HD DVD on MAy and is arguably the most significant release thus for the format. In conjunction with the release Microsoft, an exclusive supporter of HD DVD, is giving those who purchase the
Complete Matrix Trilogy and have Xbox Live a special bonous.
Inside packages of the
Complete Matrix Trilogy are “tokens” to download the entire
Animatrix series from Xbox Live Marketplace. The bonus not a part of the more expensive
Ultimate Matrix Collection because the
Animatrix films are all included in that set’s bonus material.
Also part of the promotion for the
Matrix hitting high-definition is that on Xbox Live from May 15 through May 25, free content like HD trailers from all three
Matrix movies and favorite scenes like "Bullet Time in the Subway" and "Morpheus fighting Agent Smith" will be available for download in HD.
Those without HD DVD players but enjoy watching high-def movies courtesy of the Xbox Live Video Marketplace will be out of luck for the
Matrix series. The original
Matrix movie is available for download, but only in standard definition.
The Ultimate Matrix Collection will be available for $119.99 SRP and
The Complete Matrix Trilogy available for $99.99 SRP this Tuesday. Blu-ray Disc versions of both collections will be released later this year.
