Exclusive Razer Abyssus Review

Introduction
Razer in the past couple of years has been delivering some amazing gaming devices, which not only look awesome but also perform well. There was a time when I had lost track of the Razer products, there were so many in such a short time. One of their latest release is the Razer Abyssus.
The Abyssus comes with the 3.5G 1800dpi Infrared sensor which is also found on the Razer Deathadder. The Abyssus weighs around 1/3rd the deathadder, hence it results in faster reactions, mainly in FPS games. The navigation buttons will be missed surely, but I am sure it must have been hard to implement as the Abyssus is an ambidextrous mouse.

As it is to compete the Mx518 head on, I became really interested in writing about the mouse as Mx518 was my first gaming mouse which I had bought with my first salary. I was told that Abyssus is targeted towards the new gamers, So I will be reviewing the mouse from a beginner's point of view, how they would adapt to it and will it satisfy their new hunger for frags.

Let us look on to the official specifications, taken directly from razerzone.com
  • 3500dpi Razer Precision™ 3.5G infrared sensor
  • 1000Hz Ultrapolling™ / 1ms response time
  • Mechanical dpi/polling rate switches
  • On-The-Fly Sensitivity™ adjustment
  • No Drift Control
  • Always-On™ mode
  • Ultra-large non-slip buttons
  • 16-bit ultra-wide data path
  • 60-120 inches per second and 15g of acceleration
  • Three independently programmable Hyperesponse™ buttons
  • Ambidextrous design
  • Scroll wheel with 24 individual click positions
  • Zero-acoustic Ultraslick™ Teflon feet
  • Seven-foot, lightweight, non-tangle cord
  • Approx. size in mm: 115(L) x 63(W) x 40(H)
I am very thankful to SMC-International for giving me the honor to review the mouse.

Re: Exclusive Razer Abyssus Review

What VikiD is saying is correct. The ISO on the photos is too high because of which the photos are really bad. In the mouse comparison photo you cant makeout which is which. You should have kept the ISO low and used more light.

Re: Exclusive Razer Abyssus Review

The abyssus acording to me is a much better mouse than the mx518... i used it for 6 months and still could not get used to it...but when i held the abyssus it just feels right... the mx518 is more comfortable and the plastic left and right sides may be a problem at first but once u get used to it theres no going back....the abyssus is more precise than the mx518 which is too big for me.....
