Absolutely.... This was bought from KMD & with my 1650 it gives awesome scans... Even with Nero 6 I got C2 errors ~250-400 @ 16x which is not bad but with ImgBurn its way better...

Also as it seems & as mentioned in numerous forums that 1650 gives lesser C2 errors if burned @ faster speeds for TY's 'coz I tried 8x but the C2 errors were ~500-700 with Nero 6....

So i guess 16x is a good spot for this media when using BenQ 1650 & ImgBurn....

Actually both... The drive & software should support overspeed burns... When 1650 was launched only a few writers supported this but now almost all of them do....

Usually nowadays manufacturer do market this as a feature on the packaging so I don't think, for new purchases one can miss this out... As for the drive already purchased manufacturer's site is the best source for such information....

Re: DVD Media Quality Scans

@racy, Here are the 16x burns you wanted. Written on a Benq 1640 and scanned from a Samsung 203B. The firmware on the Benq 1640 is rather old. So results are still not as good as they should be.

Mitsubishi DVD-R 16x

These media are really good for the price

Raghu.

  • Burning Speed: 16x
  • DVD Brand: Taiyo Yuden
