PROS:
Very fast. Handles most of the apps.
Sturdy build.(almost)
Great screen clarity.
Keyboard is great. Backlight is very helpful!
Battery backup is awesome with the 9cell battery. Did 4hrs and 25 min. with moderate/no usage.(constant 20% cpu usage and screen on 70% of the time with 60% brightness)
Love the flat touchpad buttons(very low profile buttons). They dont curve like the HP dv6s hence no slippage.!
Does heat up but the touchpad remains sufficiently cool!

CONS:
Does heat up! Not to be put on the lap after 3hrs of being on! Cannot put your hand on the backplate for more then 2-3seconds!

HDD Temperature shot up to 50C and cpu was 51 after 4hrs.!!

The backlit keyboard light bleeds out from places! sometimes distracting. (but it can be turned low/off with Fn keys)

The 9cell battery comes out vertically. I was told by dell that it would protrude horizontally. But o well! It actually tucks the laptop on ur knees if u are used to put the laptop on ur thighs when your thighs are at 50-60 degrees with the ground..!

The non-touch multimedia keys sometimes make you feel cheap because most of the lappies come with the secy sliding touch volume bars and capacitative play/pause buttons!

The webcam quality is nowhere near to the MAC's.

The midnight blue color fades in bright light! I wont recommend it.! The matte is scary! It catches dust so easily. Even if its not dust. The surface feels as like alot of dust will come out when you rub it with your hand!

Congrats!
I also received a Dell Studio 15 with almost the same config as yours a few days back. Upon boot up, the lappy showed an avg. of 25% cpu usage. I decided to remove Vista and install Win 7 and viola! cpu usage shows as 3% or less and ram shows up an avg. of 800mb

^^I just closed the dell Dock! It si back to 3-4%

CONS!
I hate the light in the charger knob! It glows even if the knob is not plugged in the laptop!
At night if you forget to remove the charger from the wall socket! It makes a good night lamp!

if you wanna go for matte! I would say go for Red or black!.. blue fades in light. But in dim conditions it looks hawt!

NFS undercover - 1280x720 - medium details

Suggest some some good games please!\
