Hey,
Does anyone have a dead graphics card whose fan works? The thing is, I have a graphics card that a friend gave me. The fan apparently burnt out a while ago because there's just a mess of molten plastic where it is supposed to be. I can confirm that the card itself still works because it runs for a short while on just the heatsink alone.
It's an Nvidia GeForce 7200 GS or something like that, really low end. But you know, reuse, reduce and all that so if anyone has a dead graphics card whose fan works I'll buy it for a reasonable price.
I don't want something fancy, just the normal stuff. Some things:
1. The holes for the heat-sink pins are 60 mm apart, so I need a heatsink that'll fit like that. The fan, naturally, must be smaller to fit in the heat-sink.
2. The pins for the heat-sink _must_ be at the corners, there is no space to fit it on the card itself unless this is the case.
To illustrate, here is a picture of two heat-sinks for a GPU. The one on the left is fine, the one on the right is not.
