Closing Your Sale Thread
| || || |
I'm sure most of you use our popular classifieds forums to sell off your excess hardware and software. However many members seem to be unaware about the need to close your sale thread in the classifieds forums once you're done with it. I therefore would like to explain as to why it is important to close your sale thread once you're finished with it and how to go about it.
Keeping your sale thread open once you are finished with it is not just bad manners but can cause inconvenience to yourself and others as well. You may get inquiries about items that you are no longer selling and it can influence other peoples purchasing decisions as well. People also routinely bump up dead sale threads which disrupts the "What's New" search and thread display order.
Moderators routinely move these threads to the Closed/Completed Deals forum but it is not possible for us to do this on time everyday. Leaving your sale thread in hopes that the moderator will move it is like having a meal and then hoping that someone will put your plate in the sink for you. So be polite and close your sale thread once you're finished with it.
Closing your sale thread :
1. Firstly remove your attachments from the thread that you wish to close. Once your thread is closed, you can no longer remove your attachments from it. Not doing this can cause problems for you when you run out of your limited attachment quota. To remove your attachments, click Edit Post > Go Advanced > Additional Options > Manage Attachments and remove your attachments.
2. Go to thread tools and close your sale thread. The thread will automatically move to the Closed/Completed Deals forums.
That's it. You're done. Doesn't take much to keep your forum clean, does it.
