Cheapest Wifi Router.

I need a VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY Cheap router.

Just for one room. It will just be used as an Extender (connected through a LAN cable to the main router, a WRT54GL).

Cheap as possible.

Should just have just IP by DHCP. PPPoE connectability will be an added bonus.

I dont care about a custom firmware.
Already have Tomato running on the GL, and DD-WRT on a Netgear which is at the other end of my house.

The 54GL is in the center of the house btw. This one will be at the other end (ie. my room).

try one of those TPlink routers. If this is not going to do any hardcore work ( like torrenting, gaming and stuff, it should be fine )

or the D-Link DI524+ ( whichever one has wifi ).. its damn cheap. I wouldve given you mine, but youre around 3 months late :|.. gave it to my dad so he could use his lappy on his bed cuz of his back problems so he wouldnt have to be wired.

Buffalo ... be it hardcore or softcore

... it wont fail you.... the lowest model should cost around Rs 1800 or so it may be a few hundred bucks more but it will never let you down... no signal loss ... now slowdowns ... no abrupt restarts ... which are some of the common problems of cheap wifi routers

Its just to extend the network. Nothing around 1500 or below maybe?..

Get a 2'nd hand Beetel given by Airtel. You'd get it for free !

yeah i guess thats more or less what i payed for it. got it from prime and i think it was a bit less than 2.8

but yea i think the belkin was cheaper.thats why i said i didnt remember what the price was but considering it lives up to the hype, for me it was pretty decent.
