Cheapest Dumb Phone???

Need one for the aunt who has a tendency to lose phones frequently.

I had shortlisted Nokia X1-01 and Nokia C1-02.
Any recommendations from other brands?

Need one from a known brand (please do not recommend phones with high/unknown sar and dubious quality)
No particular brand preference though folks at home are comfortable with Nokias.

Budget:
As cheap as possible but preferably below/around Rs. 1500, else I'll prolly end up buying the Nokia phone.

Features:

Should have LARGE fonts and a comfortable keypad.
Interface should be simple and easily discernible to an old person.
Candy bar layout.
Good resolution colored screen.
Should look elegant and be relatively durable keeping in mind klutzy usage.

Don't need any other feature than this, though a bigger screen is a plus.
FM/Music playback/GPRS/dual sim etc. are not needed.

Need to make a purchase within the next couple of days so its kinda urgent.

buy the monochrome 1280 or something. I just got it for my mom. Its got well spaced out keypads ( which incidentally are awesome to text on ), Large fonts, and simple menu. With torch. From Nokia priority i paid 950 rs for it. From outside it should be around 850-900. The X1 etc have a color screen, but the fonts and the menu is really quite un readable.

If you have already decided on Nokia then you know what to buy. But I would suggest that you have a look at the less known/chinese brands as well. Some of these are built surprisingly well and with good features.

A friend of mine just bought a "losable/rugged" dual sim CDMA/GSM unknown phone for 3k which is working out just fine for him. A phone with similar features is not availible in the branded range for 7k.

Have such Chinese phones at home but they have poor readability

Anyone aware of the current pricing of the C1-02/C1-01/X1-01?
What happened to Lava/Micromax/Spice and other Indian brands?
Samsung ? LG?
I need to know competing models to make an informed decision. May as well buy a stack of 3

hmm... check out samsung phones then.. the basic guru series. What i liked was the big fonts and big keypad.

Or else check out the LG GU220 and similar phones again big fonts and a color screen.

Nokia X1 01 - Rs. 1555 with coupon rcomlb1
Nokia C1 02 - Rs.1600 with coupon rcomlb1

X1 is dual sim, but no GPRS support and bluetooth. C1 02 has GPRS and bluetooth, but not dual sim..

Other options:
Spice M4250 - rs.1000
Lava Arc 02 - rs.1300

Those Samsung phones really have me thinking. Which Guru model would you recommend?
Haven't ever bought a Samsung phone so I am utterly clueless here.

^^ the basic entry guru.. and the UI is pretty damn good. I used the LG GU220 for about three months. UI like S40, 2gb memory card, data cable, gprs modem, push mail, stereo headset, great battery back up, loud ear phone, extremely loud speakerphone. All for 3200 rs!!!

I am getting a Nokia 1616 for only Rs.950/- and the entry level Guru for 800ish bucks (both with vat paid bill)

Good deal?
What should I go for?
Or should I spend 1600-1800ish for the X1-01 and a bit more for something better?
