Blood Pressure Machine Suggestion

Hi Guys.

I am looking for a Blood Pressure Machine for my parents. There are alot of Machines at Flipkart with various rating & comments. I have zero knowledge about machine, i mean i don't know what to see before buy. I want it for my parents so it should be easy to use.

Accuracy is matter..

Please suggest me some good machine or any information about machine buying guide..

I have a infi check automatic BP monitor machine(model TMB-1112-A) at home! I have checked its values with a manual mercury sphygmomanometer and its quite accurate too. And it reads BP during inflation itself and doesn't need to deflate slowly to get the readings. its a bit faster than the usual electronic BP machines which inflate above systolic and then go down from there.

Dunno about others since we use mostly mercury or aneroid sphygmanometers at the hospital. We also have a digital one but it gives crazy high values lol! (its not branded, no trademarks on the machine)

I guess you need to look at pressure accuracy. Mine has +_3mmhg. The lower, the better.

^ Just what the DOCTOR said I've checked cheap Omron BP monitors and they give "ERR" 3 times in every 10 checks (at least) even with new batteries.

And I think that the sphygmomanometer is the best for BP check. Don't trust these gadgets.

i want to but digit because of easy use and affordable price...

actually my budget is 1500-2000/-

Have you used these devices yourself Pirtam? Are you a doctor by profession?

Sohail, can you please share the link of the machine.
I may need this as my old one gives too many errors.. I have an old BP machine but only I can use it and this I need for my own measurements..

I would agree with PirtamPyaare, manual bp monitors are supposed to be more accurate and durable. Even though I am not a doctor...but my maternal uncle and my real sister are. They have recommended manual bp monitors over digital. I have been using manual bp monitor to check BP of my parents for more than 5 years now...

The problem is that many doctors also take wrong blood pressure measurements and prescribe the wrong medication based on that. Even mercury Sphygmomanometers are not always accurate.

I havent seen a single doctor here in Hyderabad who has different cuff sizes for people with different arm sizes.

^^ yeah, I agree with the fact that ...with manual bp monitors like mercury Sphygmomanometers...you need to pay some attention to some details like: patient's sitting position, arm position, inflation bag position etc while measuring the blood pressure.

But you should avoid automated wrist manometers...as they are most un-reliable, if going for digital machine....automated arm monitors are better.
