Well i have many friends in assam..spread out in guwahati,dibrugarh and duliajaan...most of them use bsnl..anyways @BanditPanda..will help u....

I have an unlimited BSNL plan here in Duliajan, but I'm not sure which speed package this is. I'm only home 3 months a year.

In Guwahati, I've heard Sify provides stable speeds. You could check that out.
And it'd be better if you could ask around locally

I've used it a few times at my aunt's place in Bagorbari.
Connection was stable, but the speeds were usually slow. But that may be due to the location

to tell the truth,there is NO "GOOD" Broadband in Guwahati for ordinary folks like us! My once Good Unlimited BSNL cable Broadband which used to be excellent for the last 6-7 yrs with SNR above 30-35 & Attenuation under 16 is now suffering from random speed slowdown,disconnections & is very flaky with current SNR hovering between 9 -14 & Attenuation heading North to 19-20 & high latency for pings. Numerous complaints for the last 1 -1.5 months at various senior levels at the Main Exchange & local exchanges have only resulted to change in cable pairs two times & visit of J.T.O N.S BBand to my residence but with No change in actual position of the line & my now sorry Bband/fakeband condition.

The position is really pitiable here,because honestly there r No other better alternatives to BSNL worth the name.A few other private ISP players only operate mainly through BSNL leased lines & has NO independent backbone of their own.

So Good Luck if u honestly get any good "BROADBAND" Internet service at Guwahati !
* & It's better if the forget the Wireless providers from this count here...

evdo speed sucks for majority..i was getting 5 kbps max...disconnect the connect the connection same time...only use for 1 dayy...
