The dash of the vehicle

Spitfire

For all the Mustang fans... This one had a 4 litre V8!

The Bel Air...

The chevy Impala.. endearment to our celebrities and big dudes!!

The damn machine was so long, it wont come into a single shot..

A very very beautiful jaguar...

The Auto Expo 2010 Thread! Pics Finally. (56k Warning)

Sorry for the pic size in the first post. I found a batch resizing software now.. so its much easier.

A BSA..

One of my favourites.. Triumph

Indian!!

Thats a custom hard tail bobber. great great workmanship on it. Its a bullet 350, with the new UCE engine.

tried to take it in one complete frame...

And now moving on to the other cars...

The JCB dieselMax..

This machine is more than 25 feet in length!! its thin and long... you gotta see it in the flesh to believe it..

A mahindra 125cc prototype for racing.. or they do use it for racing. makes something like 53 hp!!!!

Mr. Mahindra himself at the launch of the truck line.. Too crowded...

The toyota Etios... very beautiful.. But the stall was too loud.. as in the announcements and the music.. though the babes were ok ok.. Some pics of the show to follow..

Side profile of the Etios..

The Etios Sedan.. the performance was going on alongside..

A shot of the performers..

A very undone concept.. and an equally funny outfit for the girl..

Their personal mobility solution.

And some more shots of the Prius Hybrid..

Moving on to the Honda Stall..

Re: The Auto Expo 2010 Thread!

Honda dint have much more than the Small hatch concept that they are looking at for India, positioning it below the Jazz. Infact with the Etios, the Polo, everyone seems to want a foot in the action involving the luxury hatch back segment.

The honda prototype... The Leds look funny in the picture..

And the Small concept.

This i like..

the skirting on the jazz was really nice..

Adventure wheels is a niche product company that sells ATVs and off road bikes.. Now the only kind of bikes that i dont have are off roaders.. so one of their 250s.. around 3 lakhs!!!

And their ATV, 425 cc, 4x4, with a winch.. man.. i would love to own one of these..

India's take on the Segway. 15 kmph, top speed, range of 30 kms. But only 25k!! Totally worth it..

A very interesting bike. 70 kmph top speed, range of 80 kms. I would happily buy this for my regular commute to work..

Though they need to do something about the bodywork..

The JBL stall.. Though the bouncers were really rude.. a word with the staff, and then i was up close and personal with the cars...

The star mod for me was this Nano..

The size of the subs it was running in the back was amazing!

Cost of the mod.. about 1.5 lakhs for the visual.. ICE extra...

Great job..

Kicker pricing was also available.. suprisingly affordable for the range..

A regular at the expo.

A kitted swift... Now thats some go with the show...

Honestly.. i liked the girl's outfits more..

A solar car concept standing awry in one corner... jutting out in the middle of the road..

A vardenchi custom at the Overdrive stall. Some of the staff was really sweet, but the others were really rude.. i wanted to take a pic of the alloy wheel at the back, and this douche bag is asking me to take it from the otherside. Dumb.

The emcee at the stand ( this dumb punjabi girl with blonde hair and a nose piercing), was so obnoxious and annoying. You cant be a rude emcee. you gotta be pleasant and nice.. Feedback im surely gonna send em.

At the Top Gear stall..

a 150cc and a 125 cc motorcycle company from Kolkatta, thats apparently owned by Saurav ganguly...

Who else feels the Shark lettering looks too damn like the Hunk..

Not a display car, but an Alfa deserved a pic.. the 166...

Alright, now the Hero Honda stall has the coolest coolest of any stall jobs that i have seen. They have put the ZMR in a gyro like thing, and when it rotates it looks awesome. Also they have a water curtain, which actually displays letters, logos, designs and what not. Ill put up a youtube video to explain how it looks, but it looks amazing!!

Seriously.. The best display was HH. Though the sides were cluttered, but the centre piece was amazing.. simply amazing..

The gaps in the stream of water are actually patterns and designs.. you can actually read out words like Glamour, Pleasure, and hero honda.

This was something that i really liked... if only they would actually sell this body kit..

Here's the video. Do watch it.. The water patterns look amazing!!!

Hyundai had three new vehicles on display, one of which was a concept. The big news was the i10 electric...

The concept..

The next after the tiburon...

A very interesting vehicle was the H-1 wagon.. Boxy like, but beating the innova/xylo and what not in space. And a unique design of its own.

Looks a lot like the VW van...

Hyundai display girls have been becoming uglier over the years.. and their skirts thankfully longer. I dont think anyone can forget the fiasco that happened at the 98 expo, when the santro was launched, and hyundai had brought the hottest girls, with the shortest skirts... And had put them up on pedestals which were atleast 3 feet off the ground!!

The crowd just could not get enough of the upskirts...

Right outside the exit of the Yamaha stall was a small malaysian company's stall. Very interesting and practical bikes. A 150cc dirt, and a 250 cc cruiser. With the cruiser being around 1 lakh, and the dirt bike around 75k, a very very reasonable and interesting proposition.. Hope they do come to india!!

Re: The Auto Expo 2010 Thread!

And now, My favourite portion of the Expo.. Bikes!!!

Yamaha had a classy simply stall design. The emcee being my friend, i got a very close tour of the bikes, but sadly no pics. on display are the MotoGP bike of rossi, the 2010 R1, the new paint scheme R15, the 135cc commuter segment bike that they intend launching soon, and the regular product line up.

Also were the FZ1, the Fazer 1000, the Diversion, the V-max, the Tmax scooter, and in one corner, the R15 and the FZ16, with all the performance mods installed.

And yes, Yamaha babes were hot...

The detailing on the Vmax was awesome.. truly a great bike...

the honda twister is a great looking 125cc.. If its got the performance to beat the gladiator 125, then its surely gonna be my favourite 125cc soon...

Harley was the most disappointing in terms of show girls.. I was expecting atleast a few of em.. but sadly none... But the bikes more than made up for it.. To touch and see these machines in the flesh, bikes that youve only seen in pics and movies, and to actually be able to have em in front of you.. Im surely gonna buy the 883 XL roadster. 7Lakhs!!! the 3 series can wait...

I dunno why the blue came out so so blue.. but the Glide is an amazing bike!!

The V-rod was amazing.. to see the bike in the flesh was a big big moment, atleast for me..

If you look closely, theres Gul Panag in the right hand side of the pic in the white top. She is a Bike enthusiast too, having two bullets of her own, and having done leh on her bike. the crowd in Delhi simply go mad at these times.. Someone said Shahrukh khan came, and priyanka chopra, and salman and what not... I mean everyone short of Bin Laden made an appearance here apparently..

This i will buy.. soon..

the unique mobility concept at the honda two wheeler stall..

The CBR150, 17 bhp from 150 cc, and a racing chassis. It has the making of being a R15 beater, provided they improve the looks and price it about 10-15k cheaper.. But this was only for display..

The new Unicorn.. dunno if they are launching it or not, but it looks great.. they dont really have to give it a disc a the back, but still..

In addition there was a new version of the CBF Stunner, with an engine cowling and a tachometer.

The other bikes were the CBR1000, the CB1000, the VFR1200. and the scooters were bundled away in another corner..

A bullet is a bullet.. A military styled matt green painted one.. More so!! i loved this bike!!

Another great running design was the Cafe racer.. Though i wouldve liked it if they wouldve painted it in silver or ivory white, but it was a great great design!!

Bajaj had a disappointing stall, with only two KTMs on display.. i took a few pics, but not any that are worth sharing.. BOring.

Next up was DC, with three display vehicles only, One was this monstorsity, that looks like a amphibious vehicle on steriods, with the product brief stating that it was inspired from the Ferrari Enzo on a SUV platform.. My A$$..

It had massive 32 inch wheels, which looked great though!!

Opposite the DC stall was BSA Bikes.. and the above bike is a ducati monster 900, pricing only 1.8 lakhs!!!

There was a carbon racer for 1,60,000 and another dirt bike with a single front shock up for 1,40,000!!!

Moving on to Chevy . The Beat was the biggest launch of the expo, and for chevy too. I had spotted a test vehicle and had chased it in gurgaon a few weeks back, so i was familiar with the performance.. but had to get a closer look. Its a direct competitor to the i10, with the rear being slightly more cramped. The Boot space is adequate, and this can be a great alternative for someone who is bored of the regular machines.

But this is not in the league of the aveo or spark, its above. That what makes it so lucrative as a product. I like!!

Ze transformer's BumbleBee.. This is for you Shatter!!

This girl was really cute... she posed specially when she saw me clicking...

The rear of the volt...

.

The renault Megane.. from the racing series... Looks great!!!

A concept electric vehicle...

One of the best at the Audi Stall.. the uniform of the girls were really funny btw

They had cordoned off the areas even during the business day.. so i dint take many pics...

Another hopeful launch.. the Skoda Yeti... A lot like the Ford Fusion to understand, but bigger, and more luxurious and comfortable..

Re: The Auto Expo 2010 Thread!

The jags look much much better in the flesh.. If only tata would use their engines for an indian vehicle.... maybe a diesel from land rover in the new safari!!! woosh!

I had to actually shout to the cleaner to leave the damn car alone so i can take a pic... beautiful..

Dont really excite me.. but if tata decides to use one of their power trains, im all ears and eyes...

A very beautiful concept by tata, if you notice closely, you can read that its designed by pinifarina.. looks like a smiling dolphin to me from the front.. But this will be a worthy replacement to the indigo family, or get slotted a segment above.

The meanest looking indica yet... Looks great...

Fiat had the best looking females of the expo. Some of them were small time print ad models and tv ad models too. It was good to see them...

The grande Mk2

one of the show stoppers for me. the tata ARIA, a great competitor to the innova/xylo. Though its bigger, better looking.

Runs on 17 inch wheels, and the engine from the safari 2.2 dicor. If only they had a better engine.

the interiors seem stolen from Fiat. This does not look like a tata.

The venture is a design to compete with a luxury version of the M800 van or something... interesting.

The rear of the Aria reminds me of the CRV... and its beautiful... The panel gaps, fit and finish is vastly improved. Hope they have made the suspension well, so people would not have to wait for a version 2 of this vehicle...

The magic iris was a fun cute run about. Hope they do sell it. it looks like its from Finding Nemo!!

my other most favourite launch at the Expo. This is something ill surely buy. Had an extended conversation with the staff from the company.

Coming in three engine variants, and three trim levels.

1.2/1.4 petrol
1.2 diesel.

Three trim levels.

The vehicles on display were the ones manufactured in india itself, so the finished product is awesome!!!

Flower power!!! always a charmer..

The suzuki 7 seater concept on display... very interesting...

Never thought ill be clicking a Wagon R, but the hiker concept was worth it....

A fuel cell hybrid.. looked great. Suzuki spoilt the bike display by putting these dumb blue ropes all around. They shouldve just elevated the bikes to see clearly.

A-star Casanova in "pink/purple". is it for the gay brigade????

A very north delhi punjabi style front design for the Ritz..

The alloys looked great though...

Rear was better than the front..

Nice job again...

The 2010 hayabusa.. looks smaller in the flesh than in the pics... But beautiful...

Planned launch around 2011, 2.4 litre V6.... 15 lakhs... i say why not an Accord if i can afford 15 lakhs for this...

My other favourite machine.. the GSX1000... looks great!! daresay better than the R1 too!!!

the SV650... or bandit iirc. Nice bike to launch at 5-6 lakhs..

The intruder... the model was eeyuck...

a Concept in clay made on the FZ-16 by a design institute from Pune. Totally worth it... Launch this kit at 25k, and you can sell sell sell.. Or maybe some modifier can buy this design.. and make big money on it, lookin at the popularity of the FZ.

I dint visit TVS or mercedes.. Honestly after an hour of driving just for parking, and roaming about for more than 6 hours.. i dint have the energy.

though do visit the chinese stalls, interesting lights/stickers and tacho meters and what not. I dont like the chinese, because they were sitting and selling with such attitude.

Also what they did at the trade fair is un forgiveable.
