ATI Launches Radeon HD 5450 and HD 5570

New affordable Direct X 11 Cards to be in sub $100 Range

A flying bird just dropped a small package in Erodov's backyard. Opening it up revealed a petite new addition to the existing DirectX 11 lineup of ATI cards. Further digging revealed that AMD is launching not one but two new video cards, both in the sub-$100 price range. This means that they should cost around Rs. 5000 when they hit our shores. Without further ado, let me introduce our readers to the first card - the HD 5570. This should launch at a price close to Rs. 5500.

how do these fare against the other entry gaming cards?? 8600gt/4670/9600gt etc?? Not just DX11, but say framerate at 1680 res

Can you really game at 1680 resolution with 8600GT?? Ofcourse if you are talking games like TF2 with all settings turned down then thats different. Anyways, tests are underway, ATI 5450 doesnt seem much of a gaming card but more for the HTPC crowd. It supports ATI's Eyeinfinity, plus a host of other features carried down from the big brothers in the 5xxx series. So encoding etc. should be a breeze on this card. Also it supports Flash 10.1, and video Tessellation which according to some gives better viewing expereince...

^^ not to be laughed at, i finished Crysis1, cod 4 on a 8600gt at that res, and i believe so did a few others. It was what i could afford.. sigh...

Do you remember the resolution right??? Coz honestly I was on a 8800GT and even that faced huge problems running crysis @ 1440 x 900 res...

+1 I had a 8800GT and also a 19Inch monitor(1440x900 @ 60Hz) and I never was able to play that on full res and 4AA.. my card used to heat up and the game used to crash !
that was a big reason for me to go for 4890!

You talking about the recently released 5570 or the earlier released 5770??? As such 5770 is certainly far better in terms of power consumption and performance as well, specially the idle power consumed is very much encouraging.....

I believe the 5770 has lower power consumption than a vanilla 9800GT. Not sure about comparing it against a low-profile 9800GT though.
