I have no qualms with the hardware but rather with the price.

Re: Asus T101MT Review

Yeah. with that price you can buy two entry level 10 incher nettops.

Always been the price that matters most for a netbook.

But convertibles/tablets have always been more expensive than their bourgeois counterparts.

I just hope they price it the same in India, else it will never catch on here.

Moreso, I have skeptical of what sort of a touchscreen this has. Multitouch always sends me a wrong message.

Although theoretically, I can use inking on all touchscreens (with some of my own homebrew ), I'd prefer an active digitizer any day over a capacitive touchscreen.

I take it you guys are talking about the video?

Vimeo seems to be screwing with me. I get to about 1:30 with the Eastern European guy and then it freezes. Tried downloading the damn vid with JDownloader, but still no joy.

Whatever, I'll wait for low-power computing to catch up. Not really interested in choppy usage.

That's just it.
But you can't call it more choppy than all the other netbooks based on a similar clocked Atom.
Blame the platform, not the product.

Yep. Intel should be pushing dual core, not this bullsh*t Pineview single core nonsense. Looks like they're more concerned with locking out competition that actually making a good product.

Hopefully VIA will come out with their dual core Nano and cream Pineview.

Re: Asus T101MT Review

Its all about the profit margins.

They sell their cheapest crap as netbooks. If they add one extra feature like a dual core processor, a touchscreen, or even a video decoder (ASUS 1005PR and Dell's Mini 1012) which costs only Rs. 1k in retail (and even lesser to OEMs in bulk) they gain the holy right to sell it at double the price (atleast Rs. 10k more).

Talk about milking the cash cow and how netbooks are hurting them :/

That's probably why VIA can't get a toehold in the damn market - Intel must be offering 'incentives' to all the OEMs to use their stuff.

Re: Asus T101MT Review

That's why I have my fingers crossed for Fusion. Although it may or may not be a superior product, I bet that it would help leverage a rethink and breath some fresh air into the asinine fartfilled netbook market.
