ASRock Introduces 2 Consumer Motherboards for BitCoin Mining
by ChironX 15-11-13

ASRock, the Taiwanese component manufacturers announced today two unique motherboards from their consumer range of products, geared specially for BitCoin mining. The H61 Pro BTC and H81 Pro BTC are targeted at the newest form of currency farming a.k.a BitCoining, which gained popularity during the late 2009s and then turned into a worldwide rage.

Both motherboards provide support for 6 graphics cards ( 1 x PCIe 3.0 x16, 5 x PCIe 2.0 x1 ) alongside two 4 pin molex power connectors to help push the mining rates and keep the power hungry components properly juiced up. Without these features aside, these boards look like pretty standard fare H61/H81 boards, providing the basic connectivity features:

4 x SATA2, 10 x USB 2.0 (4 Front, 6 Rear) for H61 Pro BTC
2 x SATA3, 2 x SATA2, 2 x USB 3.0, 6 x USB 2.0 (4 x Front, 2 x Rear) for H81 Pro BTC

Both of these boards have support for ASRock's propietary plethora of features, such as - XFast 555, Dehumidifier, OMG, Fast, Restart to UEFI etc.

No word on pricing yet but looking at the chipset we think that they will be available at sub $200 range.

Manish da, Bitmining is pretty much dependant on your CPU and GPU depending upon which route you take.

CPU based mining, GPU based mining, and then FPGA and ASIC based mining..

Bitcoin mining works well only with ATI cards, but its really not worth the effort and expense. You will probably end up spending more money on hardware and electricity bills (both of which are more expensive in India) than you will get back in return.

Bitcon is also a fiat currency, so theres no surety of what you will get back in return for your investment.

When did Bitcoin become a fiat currency? Please tell us who is enforcing its usage.

Fiat currency is money without any intrinsic value. It's value is only what users put on it. All currencies in circulation today are fiat currencies.

While most currencies are regulated by Central banks of nation states, Bitcoin is regulated by P2P algorithms in cyberspace. All fiat currencies are susceptibility to fail and I believe ultimately they will fail.

Almost all bitcoin calculations are performed by the GPU rather than the CPU. A low-end CPU used in conjunction with six graphics cards generally does not create a performance bottleneck during bitcoin-mining.

6 GPUS will cost more than a dedicated ASIC miner will cost and can mine 700-2000 times slower, depending on which ASIC and which GPU. The game isn't just any more viable for small players

Asrock is okay but it develops some issues while gaming and after updating its bios which behaves erratically on different hardware.

What info do you need? The motherboard doesn't mine btw, it has the expansion slots you need to setup a GPU based miner.
