ArmA II Review

Introduction

Bohemia Interactive has been known for a while now due to the nature of its projects. Not many publishers dare to do something different nowadays. But what these guys have brought to the table is the most amazing Tactical Military Simulator I’ve ever played. Unlike the Call of Duty series where you grab the gun, shoot down the bad guys and pull off a John Rambo-out-for-blood act, ARMA II will burst your brag bubble, bring you down to the knees and ask for seconds if you dare get up again. Just when you thought you had it all figured out, the game will punch you right in your face and make you feel like a n00b in the world of Tactical shooter games. This game is playable through both First and Third person view and puts you in the hot seat with any comprehensible military technology (How does an MV22 Vertical Take Off and Landing Fighter jet sound?) in the world at your fingertips. No longer is the AI dumb and a mere guinea pig for target practice but rather intelligent and deadly and not there just to assist you but to pick your head off with a single shot. The level design is second to none and the unparalleled level of detail is what makes this title very intriguing. To summarize it, ARMA 2 is vast, beautiful and brutal.

This sequel to the Original ARMA series and a worthy inspiration for Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising has won many fans across the globe. Let’s get right into it and find out why despite being one of the most incredible games around, ARMA II might just not be for you.

The System Requirements for the game are as follows

Minimum:

• Dual Core CPU (Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHz, Intel Core 2.0 GHz, AMD Athlon 3200+ or faster)
• 1 GB RAM
• GPU (Nvidia Geforce 7800 / ATI Radeon 1800 or faster), Shader Model 3 and 256 MB VRAM
• Windows XP
• DVD (Dual Layer compatible)
• 10 GB free HDD

Recommended:

• Quad Core CPU or Dual Core CPU (Intel Core 2.8 GHz, AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ or faster)
• 2 GB RAM
• faster GPU (Nvidia Geforce 8800GT / ATI Radeon 4850 or faster), Shader Model 3 and 512 MB VRAM
• Windows XP oder Windows Vista
• DVD (Dual Layer compatible)
• 10 GB free HDD

@Vijay: Thanks bro The way it looks now was worth the wait

@Stoney: I'm not sure if that was because of some left-over bugs but works like a charm on my pc.

Haha, there's a world of difference between a 8600M GT and a GTX 260

Re: ARMA II PC Review

Of course there is but I was hinting at the min spec sheet. Sadly, they don't expect you to run it on a laptop in the first place.

Re: ARMA II PC Review

Thanks Ashish! Even though this game did pretty well in Europe, I'm sure there's a huge war games community in the U.S that's playing it right now.
