Icon1 780 Ti Confusion!!

Hi Guys,

So yes.. this is one of the years when i go crazy upgrading the PC or atleast some parts..

Recently upgraded to 4770K + Z87 sabertooth mobo housed in a Phantom 530 powered by AX850 PSU..

I currently have MSI Twin frozr 560 Ti OC card but i am eyeing the GTX 780Ti...

Now i have been tracking these two cards:

EVGA dual classified: EVGA - Products - EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti Dual Classified w/ EVGA ACX Cooler - 03G-P4-2888-KR

and

GALAXY HOF+ : Galaxy

Both have similar clocks and price...

Now my friend has had a EVGA card - gr8 experience but i am unsure of its service quality in India or RMA...
with galaxy i have the advantage of buying locally with 3 yr service from TAG but my previous experience with Galaxy was bad...

So... to the point.. The Gurus of Erodov.. i seek ur advice / experiences...

Thanks in advance for your replies...

Buy EVGA from tirupati enterprise as they will provide rma for EVGA if only if you have bought card from them..
They have very good reputation..

Re: 780 Ti Confusion!!

Don't go with either of those cards unless you are going to watercool the gpu.On air you will see very minimal gain in comparison to other 780ti's.

I am using an nvidia reference zotac 780ti for 2 and half months now and it overclocks and works like a charm.

I would advise you to go with MSI GTX 780TI OC Gaming card which is available for around 55k.It has the best temps and acoustics among all the air cooled 780ti's and also overclocks pretty well.

What resoultion do you play in? Assuming 1080p, a GTX 780Ti is frankly overkill for that when you can easily max out most of the games using a GTX770 in that resolution.

Save up that money and invest later. Just my two cents. Getting a 780Ti for any resolution less than 1440p is just a waste.

Re: 780 Ti Confusion!!

It all really comes down to what you actually want.
Both Classified & HOF+ are built with the best cherry picked chips, that are meant for heavy OCing. If that's not really your goal, there is no reason to spend the premium IMHO.
You'd rather be happy with an Asus DC2 variant.

What i suggest?
If you're not into heavy OCing, get the cheaper Asus DC2.
If you're planning to do (even on air), pick any of those two. Whichever is cheaper.
Both comes with robust custom PCBs, that can withstand heavy abuse with overvoltage.

U Should never mislead someone.

Its strange to see people have such an eluded vision about MSI even before buying their stuff.

Using Msi stuff for years and have never had a issue.
