Can i give you a prime swapnil no. Ask him he will help you this issue.

PrimeABGB swapnil NO. - 022-67402000 when you dial this then press this extension to directly connected to swapnil and the extension is 202. OK.

Re: 70-90K Critique This Rig

WOW ........ Prime finally lists G.Skill ARES RAM ....... 16 GB @ 8750/- WTF !!!
Gskill 16GB ARES RAM F3-1866C10D-16GAB

And it's 2 x 8GB .... just what I am looking for & here's a review http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.ph...=925&Itemid=67

just gotta check out the compatibility with Asus P8Z77-V PRO (G.Skill website compatibility listing is not very precise)

URGENT QUERRY:
1. The above G.Skill RAM specs is not listed in Asus's QVL http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/...-V-PRO_QVL.pdf - so does this mean it's not supported ?
Note: It is listed as compatible on primeabgb & g.skill site

If you want a PC now, get a good graphics card, a good i5-3550 and H77 based machine, and play as much games as you want. Get yourself a standalone sound card as well for those sound capturing ordeals. When haswell comes, go all guns blazing for the best bang for the buck configuration and you're set. I do not see any justification of buying a high end processor mobo combo and regretting after 1 year when Haswell comes out.

That way he can wait till broadwell because its better than haswell , then some amd series might get him curious and then disappoint , then again intel would announce something new .
How long should one wait ? .
I feel one should buy it when one needs it , there is no point in waiting for things specially in computers , it can drive someone mad ! .

My dear friend , I would say go all guns blazing now , get the best you can now !! .

Oh - guess I jumped in too late. Anyways, few points I'd like to add...

If U ever planing to go the hackintosh route, plz get a Gigabyte motherboard. The ASUS mobo may work with DST but there'll still be (sleep, sound, etc) issues.

When U call prime, ask for swapnil/ashok and tell them 'Haaris' told U to speak to them and U'll see a drop in their initial quotes ... along with Rs. 100 home delivery charges for everything

What are U paying for the Seasonic SS 660KM 80+plus GOLD PSU? I may be able to get U even better rates and FULL 7 yrs warranty on that

Lemme know...

BROTHA ..... U ARE NOT TOO LATE AT ALL and boy o boy wot timing U R mah SAVIOUR

........ In fact, I was/am mentally exhausted and drained out as I am criss-cross-checking each and every component for "compatibility issues"..... BUT NOW u have re-juvenated me

So let me toss next .......

C H A N G E I N P L A N S
Processor : 3770K
For the Seasonic SS 660KM I was gonna pay 8050/-
Cabinet (still going MAD ) abt this thingy ....... so now it's BitFenix Raider Gunmetal Window (from the E Dealer)

Now for the Giga board (it must have a legacy PCI port for my Soundblaster Audigy Card) - this is what I had shortlisted earlier Z77X-UD5H WB Wi-Fi
- dropped it coz of some negative feedback (from newegg) ..... wot's ur take

SSD - between
OCZ 128GB Vertex 4 ......... Rs 7699
or
Intel 120GB 520 Series ...... Rs 8599 or
Kingston 120GB Hyper X ..... Rs 8899
RAM - will decide once motherboard is finalised (after checking the QVL)

Lastly - CPU cooler remains Noctua NH-C14 ..... a C-Type air-cooler with 2 fans .... Rs 5400

Cheers
Terry

yep mate ..... (will burn a bigger hole in my pocket) but on second thoughts, the "hyperthreading" will come in use for me.... let's see how this goes.... or else 3770 too will do (sacrifycing the OC option) .... no issues :imagination:

If you are going to buy Intel i7 3770K then go with this two mobo for your RIG.
1. Asus Maximus V Gene - 15K
2. Asus P8Z77-V PRO - 16K

and for SDD go with OCZ 128GB Vertex 4 OR Intel 120GB 520 Series.

RAM; go with GSkill RipjawsX series for your RIG.

@Timon bro .... u r missing the whole "reasoning" why I changed plans........ go back and read well from today @hawk's post

So I need a Giga board (with PCI slot too) ..... the Gene does not have one, and Asus does not work very well with a hackintosh

LOL - those issues are with the service providers ... not the manufacturers (newegg feedback). Sadly, Digilink, the Giga service provider for India is even worse! But giga boards are very stable and robust. Unless some1 is very unlucky, he'll neva have issues with a new giga board. For a stable workstation, I'd myself go with Giga board, even though I'm in the quick dail list of the ASUS distris and service providers. Any time some1 comes to them saying "my 1600MHz RAM is only running at 1333MHz on their mobo", they call me and tell me to give him my gyan

Haven't checked the SSD reviews to say which is a better buy ... but if U decide to go with OCZ 128GB Vertex 4, I can get U the best rates ... will call Tirupati tomorrow aft'noon and then post the price for both the vertex 4 128GB and Seasonic SS 660KM.

From what I remember, 3770K was for abt 20K if U purchase the mobo along. Call Rahul @ TheITwares Ecommerce (PH # on the website) .. tell him hawk@erodov told U to speak to him ... ask him the best rates he can give U for CPU + Mobo.

Lemme know if U need any other help ... will post the costs of Seasonic PSU & Vertex 4 SDD 2moro ... \o till then

Yepp! Digilink .. they handle MSI & Giga service. I ve personally had a bad experience with them. They refused to RMA my 4970 cos 2 of the screws (holding the heatsink) were rusted. Rashi is better in those regards .. ASUS (rashi) accept rusted/burnt product for RMA.
